My son bought his computer at Best Buy on Dec. 29, 2008 and the screen has gone bad 3 times. The extended warrany he purchased replaced only replaces the screen 2 times and after that the service plan is "fulfilled" and won't fix anything on the computer again.
I do not believe he did anything to cause this. This is his third laptop and this has never happened before. Has anyone experienced similar problems with this model

well he has had 3 other toshiba satellite laptops and has had no problems whatsoever with the lcd on any of them, one of the times he only had it back for 4 days before it did the exact same thing, he said he was treating it very delicatly after the first replacement just in case thats what it was, but it went bad again anyways, it seems as though there is a definite defect of some sort
A Couple of questions that should be asked; How does he carry/grab it to put it into a carry bag? How does he maneuver it to put into a desk or table? Is it on a cooling platform or constantly on his lap? Lastly - have you contacted the store/regional manager of Best Buy about this problem. Toshiba generally is a very good brand and does not have consistently re-occurring problems like what you've described, so let's see if we can figure out what's causing it.
