If you have a 2006 or later model, you must set up Blue Ray DVD to Auto Mode on their output setting.

SOURCE: UPGRADE MY HITACHI
Go to MENU>SETUP>UPGRADES. Jot Down Your Software version. Call Customer Support at (800) 448-2244. Give them your current software version, Model number, and TV Serial Number, and they will tell you if you need upgrade. If upgrade needed, they will mail out MMC card with instructions for upgrade.

Yes. You need to have a DVI connector on your PC for direct DVI-DVI connection or you can buy a DVI-VGA cables for around $25 bucks. Then, after connected, go into your display properties and adjust your settings. Hope that helped.

SOURCE: i have a hitachi 65s700. why would i need to
software change all the time. If you want everything to work properly you need to keep it up to date. Programs may stop working or freeze up if they are not in sync. It is up to you, but it is a good Idea.

SOURCE: No picture (black screen) using a HDMI to DVI
MAKE SHURE cable is good and connections are good . also make shure your tv is set to dvi input. J.D.W.
