You dragged & dropped files in recovery mode? Recovery mode is only for re-installing the firmware or formatting the device if it is unresponsive. If you are wanting to drag and drop files onto the device, the music needs to be put into the Music folder on the device. If you do not see the Music folder, you will need to enable hidden files and folders on your PC. Best of Luck. p.s. - you can add to this question this doesnt work.

SOURCE: My Coby MP-705 Won't Delete Songs

I had the same problem - VERY frustrating. Just found the answer, and am very happy to share it!

1. In setting/USB mode, select MSC mode.
2. Plug in Coby to USB
3. Open My Computer. Look for the Coby as a REMOVABLE DISK, not the Coby.
Files will be there for Viewing and Deleting! (On XP, at least).
4. Make a backup of MTP.BIN and WMPInfo.xml, which I think is the operating sytem?

I got the clue from here:

Well, turn on you mp3 player, go on setting/USB mode and select MSC mode.

Then plug it on your computer and check in MICIN.DIR folder. You must find them.

It wasn't exactly what I saw, but once I looked, it was all there. Perfect!

Not a problem. Microsoft Digital Rights Management (required by RIAA and record companies) enforces one copy per song only. Otherwise you are a pirate. Buy another copy of the song. "Arrgh, me matey," says the parrot.

Hello Ace,

Is it possible that you are looking in the wrong folder in the MP3 player when it's disconnected?

Kind regards,

Ron.

Ive got a Thomson MP3 (6677) which i still use, and a Windows 7 laptop - i see the drivers on the accompanying disc (Musicmatch Jukebox) are for Windows 98 and im worried that if i install it on this pc,...

If your mp3 player is connected via usb, it is probably supported directly by windows 7 and will be recognized as a thumb drive when you plug it in.

I synced music from windows media player to my coby MP-C781 MP3 player and now it wont power on. And I've tried everything

what I would do is plug it back to the computer and if that works what you should do is go to the manufactures website and download new firmware for your player and reflash the player and try draging a dropping the music instead of using windows media player. this is how you can drag and drop:
first off find where your music is stored and open up that window then open up a window with you mp3 player in it and drag and drop the music into the window with your mp3 player

How do i download songs from my home computer

You can open windows media player and tranfer music from your computer to your mp3 player. If that does not work go to "my computer" and open your mp3 player and locate the music folder and drag and drop your music.

Have you over loaded the memory? I had this problem and had to erase a lot of files that I no longer use.

Erasing songs from MP3 player

if you have windows media player, which i uses to drag and drops all my songs, go to the sansa player which appears on the left, click on it. It should show all your songs and mostly everything, right click on the mouse and it should show a list of which song you wants to delete.

I have been able to sync mine, though it wouldn't transfer some songs. It would sit there trying to convert it but wouldn't. So I tried the alternate way to get them on. I just did a drag and drop and all the songs played fine. I just had to be sure to hold the play/hold/stop button for about six seconds before it would turn on.
BTW all of the songs including the ones windows wanted to convert played fine this way.
