Check fuel lines in tank make sure they are not broken or have hole in it. You will probably have to rebuild the carb. As you know you have fire and it will run with proper fuel.

I think with the symptoms that you are having, that you need to 1. Remove the carburetor 2. Inspect/Replace fuel filter and fuel lines 3.Disassemble and Clean the carburetor 4. Possibly install a new gasket and diaphragm kit or a complete rebuild kit.

SOURCE: My Lennox Furnace starts and stops.

First let me thank all the pros that take the time to answer our questions. My wife thinks I'm a genious. I had the same problem up to 30 minutes ago and fixed it from a solution found on a different webpage. There's sensor sticking up where the flames come out with a single wire coming from it. Remove the sensor and scrub it with steel wool. Replace it and get your hummer from the old lady because you just saved her a few hundred bucks.

John Deere 855 starts and then stops after 2 seconds.

The fuel shut off solenoid has two separate windings, energize and hold. The symtom of 2-3 seconds run is likely the fuel solenoid energizing during start cycle but a failure with solenoid hold when the ignition switch is released to the RUN position. Suggest you verify the hold circuit and solenoid hold winding are working.

Start up procedure for model 10653 homelite super 2

Fully close the choke, shut off switch is toggled to "run". Pull start without using the throttle until the engine fires. Set the choke to the second position, pull start again until the engine fires and idles. Allow some time for the engine to warm up while giving light throttle and when the engine responds smoothly, set choke to fully open.

We just purchased a Homelite Pressure Washer. We put new gas and oil into it, and it will run for about 2 minutes and then shut off. Now we can not even get it to run. We really don't want the hassle of...

A couple of things to check.. some rather obvious.

Assuming you have followed all the directions.. removed the pump vent plug before first use.. have a hose attached.. pressed the trigger on the wand to make sure you have water flowing etc.

Check to make sure the fuel valve is turned to ON.. fully..
If you Over filled the gas tank.. remove some of the petrol.. it should not be filled to the top...

Hopefully you put the correct amount and right type of oil into the crankcase.. again do not overfill the crankcase..

The fuel on most Homelite pressure washers is regular unleaded gasoline. NO E85 fuel should be used. Certainly no premixed gasoline for two cycle engines.

Check Choke position.. to start place in Cold Start or ON.. once started let it run for about 5 or ten seconds.. move it back to RUN..

If you ran it too long with the choke on you probably fouled the spark plug..

Remove it and clean it carefully.. if it is wet.. and all black.. it's fouled.. let it dry out.. clean it up properly (careful to not change the gap) replace and try again.

Lastly if you live in a neighborhood.. there is almost always a fellow nearby that is good with smalle engines.. ask around.. these guys are always happy to fiddle with these motors.

Best of luck to you!

Correct start proceedure

Hello,
My name is Dane and I am going to help you solve your problem.
I don't know what homelite says, but I have found that this works well on any 2 cycle engine.
1. Push the primer bulb between 3 to 5 times.
2. Place choke on full.
3. Pull rope until engine fires once or starts.
4. Move choke to half choked position and allow to warm up.
5. When warm place choke in run position

If it doesn't attempt to start within the first 3-6 pulls, check your spark plug and make sure your fuel/oil mixture is correct.
I hope I've helped! Thank you! Dane

Homelite vacuum blower doesn't run at full speed.

Sounds like you need to adjust the Carb. Take the two plastic caps off and turn each screw 1/2 turn. and then try to start. If it works then out the caps back on (or you can leave them off, they are not needed).
Good luck!

Running problems

I am not completely positive that this is your problem but one thing to try when it starts cutting out is to loosen the fuel cap. On a lot of 2000 through 2004 Harleys the vent in the fuel cap gets plugged up and creates a vacuum not allowing the fuel to flow to the carbs. If this doesn't help run the trouble codes to see if there is a ECM related problem. To access the codes, turn the ignition on for about 3 seconds (one second after the fuel pump stops running) and then turn the ignition off for 3 seconds. Repeat this, then turn the ignition on and the codes will flash on the check engine light after about 8 seconds. The first series of flashes (about 3 flashes per second) are intermission flashes then there will be a 2 second delay and the first code will flash. If the first digit of the code is 1 the light will flash one time and then there will be a 2 second pause before the second digit. There will be a 1 second delay between flashes for a digit of 2 or more. All codes are 2 digit codes. For example, 11 would be throttle position sensor, 12, barometric pressure sensor, 14 engine temperature sensor, 15 intake air temperature sensor, 16 battery voltage, 23 and 32 fuel injector, 24 and 25 ignition coil, 33 fuel pump relay, 52,53,54,55 ECM failure, 56 crank position and cam position sensor timing.
Hope this helps.
