I have this problem with the hp pavilion dv2000 where the laptop does not boot up, i went to see some guy that fixes computers and told me it was the motherboard and needed to be replaced, and also told me that because this laptop has a small fan, it overheated and damaged the motherboard, what im gonna do is if im eligible for a free repair because most of the hp pavilion dv2000 model have these problems
You might be still covered under extended warranty, check here
I had this problem before (2 years ago) and I had to take it for motherboard change (under warranty) and it works fine. Yes; you have to take it for repair; but the most important if you have a pre-installed Windows Vista is to check it works after repair. What happened to me after I took my laptop from the repair center that Windows Vista claim that the installed version is not genuine and it starts block services one by one as time pass, when I ask some friend they told me Windows Vista uses combination of numbers collected from CPU, motherboards and various parts of machine to protect the piracy and when the mother board changed; it has been suspected as non-Guinean. "I don't like this model it make trouble since I bought it; now I have a new one"
I need to the motherboard i have msi ms-7309 ver 1.0 K9N6SGM-V
