I've taken it to a jeweler who sent it to a Rolex dealer who couldn't repair it. It needs to be repaired by a Burett watch repair. Thank you, finewatchmaking.com. Any idea of the cost?

An authentic Rolex will have a screw down back with exactly 144 small teeth. You can only open a Rolex case with a special Rolex tool (Key). We use the Bergeon hand wrench to open Rolex cases. Supplied with 6 Bergeon grooved chucks(18.50, 20.20, 22.50, 26.50, 28.30 and 29.50 mm), these are the same chuck used in the Bergeon 5700RO and will fit in the Bergeon Bit Adpater for 5700-Z Case Opener our number FB-231. Replacement chucks and replacement handle are available in case you have a set that is missing a piece. As is the case with any fine mechanical instrument, special tools are required in order to properly service and adjust a precision instrument such as a fine timepiece. If you are not experienced, it is better to leave this to a Certified Rolex tech. If you do feel you want to proceed, this tool will set you back about $140.00 or so. Just as the internal parts of the Rolex are exact, so is the watch case that protect the valuable watch movement. These tools are used to open the Rolex case without causing expensive damage. You can call Bob Frei at 510-832-0355 ext. 2 from 11 AM to 5 PM Pacific Time Zone, to order one if you wish, or several other sellers of these fine tools can be found by doing a little research on the net. Hope this has helped you.

SOURCE: I have a 18k gents

The incabloc movement is not too expensive but it sounds like your watch is! I am not sure the movements are available for the older watches anymore, your watch will need the right measurements, so if you take it to a watchmaker they have many older parts and may have a watch movement to fit it! The picture in my profile is of a very expensive 6 ounce gold ladies watch with an incabloc movement. The watch was thought to be from Europe somewhere , it was sold for its beauty and the movement itself did not work! Hope this helps explain your problem a little better! thank you!

Why doe's my Rolex explorer11 jump back an hour now and then. For no reason. help

Your watch is in need of a service. If you can send it to Rolex, thats great, do so. Otherwise, any good watch repair jeweler can do a simple service on a Rolex. Make sure you save all the receipts on the service.

Unfortunately, for authentic Rolex watches you usually have to get the repairs done by an authorized Rolex dealer. Call your locally-owned high-end jeweler or go online (Google: Rolex Repair) to find an online repair resource. Sorry I couldn't help you!

Stopwatch second hand stops/jams at 57 seconds point jamming the whole works. Watch stops. Keeps excellent time otherwise if stopwatch not used. 2003 ss model. Bought new from rolex.

This may sound obvious but it needs to be repaired by a jeweler/watch repair shop. Although it is possible that the stop watch second hand is out of sync it would usually mean that the stop watch is starting at 3 seconds before 00:00 for 57 stop. If that's the case you should be able to readjust the start/stop position by pulling the crown out to 1st or 2nd position and then pressing the stop watch start stop buttons. One press, one position. Although I am not certain of the exact sequence.
However if you are unsure or it starts at the 00:00 position you need to find a jeweler you can trust to do the work. Check out a few places and ask to see the credentials of the watch repair person then compare and make an informed decision. Don't just use the jeweler at purchase point.
Most times, if it's a simple repair, like readjusting the hands a good jeweler will do it for nothing.

Good luck

Rolex watch

Hi tia

If it is a geniune Rolex... dont even think about it!! Take it to a jewellers for repair. Even if it is not, and you wish the watch to remain water resistant, then the casings and seals should be cleaned and serviced, even sometimes replaced when put back together. It is worth it to maintain the integrity of the watch... and make it last:) Jewellers dont charge much for this service
