If it is a serger and does not have the coverstitch conversion option, then no, it does not do coverstitch. (FWIW, the pictures seem to show a machine that was made several years ago before the combination machines were available.) Some machines are combination serger and coverstitch, but most users complain about the difficulty of converting back and forth between the two options. However, good used coverstitch-only machines can be purchased for a relatively good price compared to purchasing a combination unit.

I need the Huskylock 936 guide to setup the cover stitch. It is just a sheet of paper with many steps. Does anyone have it? thank you

Husqvarna Viking has the text instructions and for a couple of cover-stitch options on the Huskylock 936 page: http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/en-US/Machines/HUSKYLOCK-936 . The link to these instructions are here: http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/SiteMedia/EN/US/Documents/Learning%20Center/Huskylock_Specialty_Techniques_x_.pdf?ext=.pdf . There is also a video for setting up a triple cover stitch in the How-To tutorial. Note: the video requires Adobe Flash Player to run. The manual has a section on the cover stitch starting at page 40. This is available here: http://manuals.husqvarnaviking.com/VSM/Husqvarna%20Viking/HVManual.nsf/1fd5659e6f37141041256697003e64c0/de210fba65cb0805852575ed0070df04/$FILE/Huskylock_936_manual_EN.pdf .

I hope the steps in one of these files helps you set up the serger.

Husky lock 936 cover stitch troubleshooting

try a new needle

try rethreading that one needle

rethread the looper

if that doesn't help, then the machine may have a timing problem and would have to be checked

Best huskylock stitch to sew Lycra sports clothing

Im not familiar with the huskylock but I use woolly thread on both loopers with good tension and less than a medium length on the needle stitch and using the differential feed. Try u tube as there are several good links for sewing stretch.

Huskylock 936 will not form a 4-thread overlock stitch

It may be difficult to solve a computer controlled machine with as many options as the 936 serger. Stepper motors control many of the functions. You can check out this video I made 4 years ago to get an idea of where to look.

I have a Husqvarna 936 huskylock which is about two years old. I have not used it much yet and yesterday I set it up to do a cover stitch for the first time. Since then I have spent hours threading...

For the cover stitch, only use a size 90 needle. Depending on the type of knit, use a ball point or stretch needle. The 936 uses standard sewing machine needles, so you can switch needles with the type of fabric, just like with a sewing machine.

My Huskylock 936 - needle won't go down. The motor seems to be binding up.

Check your threading, both top and bottom, sounds like you have threaded wrong.
