SOURCE: Needle hits bobbin outer casing

Your hook/needle timing is off and it needs to be seen by a technician before you damage the hook. Some dealers can do a 24 hour repair for an additional charge.

Hi, actually I can help with your problem but maybe you can help me with mine. A friend gave me the same model...without the instructions. Would you be willing to give me a pdf scan or photocopy of the manual, please? Let me know at [email protected]. Thanks!

SOURCE: Bobbin holder problem. Needle hits bobbin holder

Is the needle all the way up in the holder? Have you checked the timing with the bobbin and the needle. Look in your manual for needle timing

SOURCE: Needle hits the bobbin holder and doesn't grab the bobbin thread

Also note that using a red band Singer needle will cause this exact symptom. The Singer needle is about 1.5 mm too long for use in any other machine. Ensure that you're using a standard needle. (Schmetz and Klasse are good examples.)

Your machine may also be out of time, which would require professional repair.

SOURCE: needle hits bobbin case...

If the needle hits the bobbin case the are only 2 things that could be wrong. Lets hope its the easy one, there are more than one length of needles, if the needle is to long or it is not all the way up in the neelde bar, the needle will hit the inside of the bobbin case. Now if that is not the problem then the machine is out of time. ALWAYS check the easy stuff FIRST.

I have a ULT2002D Brother sewing machine that keeps catching the thread. From the needle and winds around the bobbin causing a jam. What Can I do about this and can I fix it myself

Sounds like there is a hook of metal either on the needle or the bobbin case (sometimes happens when trying to sew something very very thick and the needle bends slightly and hits the bobbin case.). Suggest changing needle 1st, if this is not the problem, take out bobbin case and look and feel with fingers, if there is a mark where the needle has hit just use your own steel nail file and file the area very gently to remove the bur. Good luck!

I have a Riccar 500FA. The upper thread will not pick up the bobbin thread. I have oiled, cleaned, checked the needle installation, the bobbin installation and the needle is brand new.

needle/hook timing needs adjustment
accredited service agent can fix or any sewing machine service shop should be able to do the job

Needle hits bobbin casing.

Don't know if you have a manual or not. You can read the manual from the link below. I would look for the bobbin area in the manual. There should be a section showing the bobbin area for cleaning and oiling. It may as simple as removing and reassembling the bobbin case.
It could be the timing and would require a service repair technician.

Looping underneath

I watched a 'You Tube' demo that showed ........if you loosen or tighten the very small screw at the base of the bobbin this gives you the correct tension & stops the looping under the fabric........I didn't even know this screw existed ! It is trial & era at first re the correct tension but you do get there.... the art is to do it in small mini stages.....like you hardly move it ! Thanks to 'You Tube' I can now get on and finish my drapes !
