Question about Windchaser Heating & Cooling

Why does my windchaser portable ac motor runs high to low blows warm air and it shuts off and a e5 error code? What should I do?

It is probably either the high pressure switch or the frost control. The high temp switch usually trips because the condenser coil is dirty which does not allow it to exhaust heat very well. The frost control will trip if the system gets below 39 degrees on the pipes. This is usually do to low refrigerant or dirty filters. Good Luck!

Your problem is the air temp control blend door actuator is defective and not controlling temp u set. to change/access this part the dash assembly must be removed from the car.

Sounds like throttle A/C cutoff. Check at what point A/C stops. Full throttle, 3/4, half, etc,... You can disable the throttle A/C cutoff. This is designed for increased performance. Check manual for your cars setup.

Unfortunately, unless you still have the Owner's Manual for you unit, you may never know what the E5 error code indicates. Windchaser went out of business about 4 or 5 months ago. And with them went any and all information about their AC units and other products they manufactured & sold. In addition, unless, it's an interchangeable part, there are no Windchaser OEM parts available at this time.

Amazingly, there are some retailers that still have the units for sale, but are not telling the customer that the company is out of business. I guess they just don't want to get stuck with the discontinued units.

I wish I had better news & information for you. But, it is what it is.

Unit shuts off, getting an E5 error. sounds like there is a lot of water inside. the customer service numbers for Windchaser are disconnected. PLEASE HELP!!!!

E5 is the fault code for Compressor overheat/malfunction it coulb be caused by the exhaust hose being too long or kinked, remove the exhaust hose and run the unit for an hour and see if your problem goes away, if so re-route the exhaust hose, if not you need to contact the manufacture

You and get flex duct at lowes 6" 25' to a box that should work the same, In the heating cooling section.
