SOURCE: acer laptop wont turn on has power button light up

This is a common problem with Acer units, both desktop and laptop. The motherboard fails to read the system BIOS at startup. Removing the battery from a laptop merely removes the power source, but not the stored memory. If you are able to locate the CMOS battery, or the cell battery the size of a US quarter dollar, that is the system battery. Remove that, wipe with a lint free cloth (coffee filter) then replace.

If that effort fails upon replacing the cleaned CMOS battery and laptop eneregy source, then a new coin cell may be the solution.

If a new coin cell fails to resolve the problem, the motherboard itself is the culprit. Time for a new laptop or desktop.

Hope this helps you...

When I turn on my Sony TV, ti stays on about 30 seconds then shuts off, What do you think is wrong?

Do a Power Reset.
1. Turn off TV.
2. Unplug the power cord of the TV from the electrical outlet.
3. Let the TV remain without power for 60 seconds.
4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. (If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.)
5. Turn on the TV.
If issue persists after doing the steps, reset the TV to factory default settings.
1. Turn on the TV.
2. Using the supplied remote, press and hold the UP arrow button.
3. While holding the UP arrow button press the POWER button on the TV itself.
4. When the TV goes off, release the POWER and UP arrow button.
5. The TV will turn on by itself and the initial setup screen will be displayed. Just follow the on-screen prompts to finish the setup.

Wii went dead after power surge

Hi,

Please visit the site HERE it.You will find a solution to your problem.

I would also suggest holding the power button on the Wii Remote itself to turn it on, or unplug your Wii Console's power cable and audio/video cable for 90 seconds. Then plug power in first, then AV cable.

I have a sony trinitron (the heavy one, that has a flat screen, but isn't a flat t.v.) And it won't turn on. It makes the initial sound that it's turning on but then there is no picture or sound. There is...

Hi,
The Standby light LED flashing at the front panel of the TV is the self diagnostic display which can be easily identified by a service technician by counting the number of blinks.
  • You can try power resetting the TV by removing the TV from the power outlet and remain unplugged for 1 minute. This will reset the internal parts of the TV.
  • Disconnect all the components connected to the TV and check if the TV works normally.
  • If the television is plugged into a power strip or a surge protector, remove it from the power strip or a surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet and check the operation.
  • Try resetting the TV back to factory default. Resetting procedure using the supplied Remote is listed on the supplied manual. The resetting procedure of the TV differs with the model.
If the issue persists after the possible troubleshooting, get it serviced at a Sony authorized service center. Check if the nearest service center is offering a Home Service.

Ihave a sony KP53S75 TV there was apower surge and now there is no picture. The red light blinks 4 times can anyone tell me about this?

Hi, if this TV was hit by the surge and it was protected by a surge protector, please follow this reset procedure.

The STANDBY light will flash if an issue is detected within the television. This can sometimes be resolved by simply following the steps below to reset the television.
  1. Turn off the television. IMPORTANT: For a projection television that uses an internal lamp, wait 5 minutes after turning off the television to allow the lamp to cool before continuing with the following steps.
  2. Unplug the television power cord from the electrical outlet.
  3. Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. NOTE: If the television is plugged into a power strip or surge protector, remove it from the power strip or surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the television.
  5. Turn on the television.

If the problem is still there and the light is still blinking 4 times, this means that the surge has destroyed the Vertical deflection component. in this case, it will have to be replaced.

please rate and have a great day.

Change the batteries on the remote, point the remote at the Sony, and hold in the power button for 5-7 seconds. Then depress and re-press the power button - see if you can get the tv remote to respond again.

Then, always try the quick reset:
