SOURCE: I need new air pump for Homedics Aquascape twist

I have an older & slightly different 4 sided tapered Homedics aquarium, but it has the same pump. I used a meter to determine that the proper voltage was coming out of the transformer, measured at the plug. I took the base apart & bypassed the female connector switch the transformer plug, plugs into. Everything worked fine, meaning the fail was in the female connector, as the wires were solidly soldered on. With a magnifying glass, I could see that a rectangular "C" type copper flange, had the side that touches the side of the plug when inserted, had broken off, therefore making no connection. Using an insulated screw driver, I temporarily completed the circuit & confirmed the problem. Cut out the old female connector & take that & with the transformer (& its plug) to an electronic components store & find a suitable replacement. You will need additional heat shrink tubing & to solder the connections.
If your pump is truly not working even if it is getting power, I don't know the answer the full answer to that. A privately owned aquarium store may test the pump for you, & offer to feel or replace the diaphragm & check valves if the motor works. I see the screws are painted with locktite after re-assembly so the parts don't vibrate loose. Good Luck.

How do I change bulbs in model blfw-500

Remove the six (6) cushions underneath the base of the unit, revealing the screws.

Remove the six (6) screws with a Phillips head screwdriver.

Slowly separate panel from base, revealing the bulb, motor, etc..

Using a 4mm socket (you do not need a ratchet for the 4mm socket because it is hand-tightened in place), remove the nut and washers securing the "rainbow" disc on the vertical axle.

The bulb is held in place with a round retainer ring secured by two (2) springs.

Remove one (1) spring, not both, from the retaining ring and remove the retaining ring off the top of the bulb.

Remove the bulb and replace it with the same style / type which is a 10W 12V MR11 GU4 halogen bulb.

Reassembly is the opposite. When reassembling the "rainbow" disc on the axle, do it in the order: washer, disc, washer then nut.

Be sure not to over tighten the nut, just lightly hand tighten it.

You're all done.

My pump has locked up is there any way to fix it

No,

They are made overseas and there are NO parts available to replace anything damaged inside your unit. Unfortunately your choices are a new unit from Aquascape or a new unit from another manufacturer. In our experience none of the units are 'great' for durability but aquascape lasts as long as any others, some others are worse.

Rebuild kit for the Aquascape SFA3000 Pump???

I have had the same problem everyone else has had with these pumps. I did serious research on these pumps and came up with a rebuild kit some parts bought some I make. I did mine 2 years ago and still working like a champ and have done over 20 locally with no problems. If your pump is noisy or the impeller has fallen off (typical) due to water getting in the unit and causing the bearings to fail email me and I can rebuild your pump. The process is simple send me the pump I will look at it and see if it can be rebuilt at NO CHARGE if it can be rebuilt you will save over 60% of a new one. Don't spend $349 - $599 on a new one let me look at it for free if I can rebuild it great if not you will have to buy a new one. I am not a dealer for any pumps so you will not have to worry about me selling you a pump and if you want the old one back pay the shipping and it it all yours.
