The motion drive design is similar to a set of spider gears, except it uses friction material rather than bevel gears in the cluster. The friction material may be worn down to the point that it no longer engages and needs replacement. This is a likely scenario for the symptoms you describe.
The replacement procedure is a rather involved process. If you feel confident and are VERY handy, reply to this post and I'll be happy to go into detail.

check the lever on the rear of the tractor used to puch the unit when not running then check the belt
Hi, first check your tire pressures are equal then check/replace wheel drive belts and pulleys for uneven wear. If all ok adjust the drive link arms until it travels straight. Regards Phil.
