i suspect a defective liquid line or pump down seleonid coil. just make sure you hear the "click" when it starts up if not the selenoid coils could be defective. also verify that the condenser fan is running, because if not you are short-cycling on high head pressure. please contact if you need any additional info

SOURCE: i have a manitowoc ice machine that was on r12 at

I wouldn't recommend R-134A for an existing unit conversion. The head pressure will probably be a bit high and a complete oil change will be necessary. I don't know what model you have or what the nickel plating on the plate looks like now but an R-12 machine will be pretty old. If you must convert I would use one of the interim replacements for R-12 such as R-414B also known as Hotshot, possibly R-409A, or Frig-12 that was made as a interim for the automotive a/c applications. Not knowing your availability to these various refrigerants I might also recommend checking the automotive a/c replacements to see what is available. As for amounts with such a small system and a TXV metering device I would just add 22oz as long as the head pressure doesn't get over say 175psi during freeze mode.

Hot gas valve needs to be seated to make sure it doesnt leak thru. At times the valve will close but it doesnt seal so it bleeds thru. You will need a hotgas valve replaced.

You're bridge thickness is set to high, lower the bridge on the sensor located when you open the front door behind the water curtain on the top. If the sensor is scaled badly replace it.

My ice machine manitowoc q 132a starts up stops after few seconds while water pump start

There is a high pressure switch that stops the unit running if a fan fails or the condenser is clogged. Next time you start the ice machine, watch the bottom led on the pcb. It will tell you if there is a fault. Meantime, reset the hp switch and clean the condenser thoroughly.

I have a model QY0604A manitowoc air cooled ice machine I recently changed the board the machine makes ice like normal but the fan cycles of and on when the High Pressure rises whats wrong with it why

The QYO604A uses r404A with a 28 oz. charge. The fan cycles for a couple different reasons. First, when the unit goes into harvest mode, it is the hot gas that allows the surface tension of the ice to plate to be broken allowing the sheet of ice to drop. It does not have the required btu capacity to do this in a timely manner with the fan running, and cycling it off allows the machine to provide a greater heat capacity to the evaporator. Second, in a properly charged machine WITH A GOOD COMPRESSOR, meaning the valves are not shot, unless it is extremely cold the fan will stay on and if it is that cold the machine is probably in a poor location. The fan cycler is a 200 psi open and 250 psi close. There are reasons the fan is intermittent also and usually this is due to a faulty switch, which after 10 years or so can fail from an electrical mechanical standpoint. I have seen the switch terminals loose and very tricky on diagnosing due to the nature of the symptoms. If your reading 200 off and 250 on then the switch is good and look at low charge, starving tev, bad compressor valves. You failed to mention what the state of production is. Normal rated, low or almost non existent. This also is part of the diagnosis. Good luck.

My water pressure coming in is 98lbs, is this to high and if it is what is the correct pressure.

Hi donaldyelver...

Your pressure is too high...put a pressure regulator on the intake of your ice maker and drop the pressure to around 60 psi...It will cause problems with leakage and seal replacement with the pressure too high.

I have a Manitowoc s-450 with a AuCS-SI installed and it is set to not clean at this time. The machine is stuck in cleaning mode and is partially refrigerating. I disconnected the AuCS and it works fine....

When a Manitowoc goes into clean mode,It stays in clean mode until it finishes. If you turn it off and then on again,it just keeps cleaning.Let it run in cleaning mode until it finishes

Manitowoc 210 ice maker

The thickness control (Im not sure if its like the bigger models) isa plastic piece that has 1 or 2 metal prongs that as the ise is frozen to the evap plate the water trickels closer to these probes. eventually commin gin to contact with the probe and allowing the board to "see" that the ise is ready for harvest. Perhaps this is set too close?

Or the machine may need a good cleaning. DO NOT USE LIMEAWAY on manitowoc. It has a nickle coating on the evap plate and the cleaner has to have inhibitors in it to keep the nickle plating from flaking off.

From your genmeral information these are a general idea of the 1st 2 things that can cause your problem.

Please ratem me as high as you can and let me know if you have tried anything and the results or if you have more information to add.
