Wont turn on then went boom

I bought it of ebay and the guy told me it would only stay in standby because he lost the remote when i got it home i plugged it in and no light came on. as i didnt have a remote i thought i might be able to plug it into my computer and it would turn on but something went boom and a bright spark came from the back.

I have my tv working like new.
If you want this time the power supply last, do not turn off, just press tv/video button to switch input source, let the tv in sleep mode.

SOURCE: someone bypassed a fuse and i think it blew the capacitors

my first guess would be the bit of wire bypassing the fuse.

the guy pushed a button under my dash turned the key and car started

you need to know where that push button is under the dash

if you cant find it your self ... ring the place back for instructions

This could be your Power Supply Module or your Main board. I suggest taking it in for a diagnostic check.

Now if it came with any warranty card, you may try any of the distributors in your country that sell the item. Warranty is not governed by who you bought it from it is with the manufacturer. I would be saying that it was a gift from a friend for your birthday or for services rendered and ask them if they can return it for fixing under warranty. They may want proof of purchase, and that is where lies the difficulty. But give it a go
