Hi, I am from India. I bought my PSP a year ago, I had 2 issues infact Once was while I was playing The game medal of honoue. I took thUMD and and inserted another one and my PSP stopped readin. It would make a spinning noise as if the UMD was beinng read but all that happened was a circular diimension kept beeping towards the left habd of the screen. I stopped using it. Then one fine day I put in a UMD nad it started work. My second issue which is the main issue. Whenever I pulg my PSP for charge the light glows on the right indicating its getting charge just stays for a minut. I doubt its the socket problem, its the PSP problem. Please can anyone help me with this?

Analog sticks on the PSP do wear out depending on how heavily you use it, if its been more than a year since purchasing it, then you could buy a psp 2000 joystick from amazon and unscrew the faceplate and unscrew the current analog stick and then replace it.

I am not clear how you would like me to help with your PSP ? If you have the 2 year insurance, can you not return it for replacement or repair?

The difference between Official Sony Firmware and Custom Firmware is that Official firmware will only run games on discs in the UMD slot, while Custom firmware will allow you to back up games you already own and run them from the memory stick. Running games from the memory stick as an ISO is much faster than from the disc, and it only took Sony years and years to realize this and implement it on the new psp-go model.

Shops that sell PSP's will be forbidden to provide you with Custom firmware because many people think this is only for stealing games, not for running 'homebrew' applications written by enthusiasts or backing up games you already own in case you scratch or destroy your umd disk.

Yes, you will need a service or pandora battery to reload custom firmware into your psp.

You can create a pandora battery and the 'magic' memory stick from any psp already running custom firmware. You can also buy them online, and if you look in the local classified ads website for where you live, you can probably find people offering that downgrading service.

I cannot run through the steps here to create your own, but tutorials are all over the net and sites like youtube.

If I were you I would contact sony about this. Go to their website, u might hav a virus. I hav had my psp 4 2 years and hav never gotten this problem.

Have you tried apgrading your firmware to version 5. Just try it, it could be the problem.

well, to run games on a memory stick you must have a certain psp hooked up to where you can play games on your memory stick, buying a psp from the store won't let you play games from the memory stick,you must buy a psp game,, im sorry

Conntact sony to get the reader (Eye) fixed. You may have droped it or it could just be a little worn out or dusty. but if it needs to be fix sony will give you the information you need to mail it in for repairs.

fix the motor that runs the disk and  if it plays data from your memory card to psp then your motor is defenitely due for a repair
