Ghosting or smearing on ASUS VH236H monitor. My monitor is several years old. Last year it started buzzing continuously, especially when there is a lot of white on the display.

In the past month, objects are "smearing" horizontally across the screen, regardless of display colour. Is my monitor getting to the end of its life, or should I take it in for repair? Thank you!

SOURCE: monitor

I would check the cable and connector pins first. Then I would suspect there's a problem with the video signal board inside the monitor. It could be the LCD panel controls, too. That would make the unit beyond economical repair unless you got a used one.

SOURCE: sony KP-43T75 color repair

I've had a convergence issue with my KP-43T75 and recently the TV made a "pop" noise and the picture+sound went out. The standby light repeatedly blinks twice over and over. Holding power button on startup causes a long blink, then the double blinks start and repeat.

I understandthat replacing the entire G Board (A-1316-471-A) will replace both problems but I can't find the part in stock, though I've seen it listed for $200. Any leads?

Luxor lux0140001B/01 1 week old picture has top half with a grey see through screen

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following
symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can
examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life
of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.

Flat monitors work on a grid method, if one of the grid is failing it creates a horizontal or verical line. its not something you can fix, so send it back.

Envision 19" Monitor is "ghosting" . It is about 3 years old. Just starting doing it. Nothing has really changed on my computer. Thanks for any help.

Try reseating the input cables. If that doesn't work then you could try a new input cable. Updating your video card drivers might also do the trick.

Ghosting problem on LG Flatron W2042S, any ides please? Looks like all text is smudged sideways, only just started today. Monitor is about 1 year old.

Try the monitor on another computer to rule out the problem being in the video card on the computer. Until you do the "rule out", can't offer you much.

Polaroid lcd hdtv 27" buzzzz

thre are several components that can make a buzzing sound, especially a bad power component or capacitor. check the capacitors to make sure they are installed in the board correctly. the stripe on the cap must line up with the white mark on the board under it. remove the back panel lay the tv down on a blanket turn it on and see if you can isolate the noise component by ear up close. and visually check for swollen capacitors the top will be pushed up round if bad if good it will be flat on top. warning if tv is less than a year old make the place you bought it replace it. so you dont void the warranty.
