Plan B would be to get a new Sony RMT-D2580 remote control but they're expensive.
You need to get the right universal remote, some have more models in them than others.

The code for a Sanyo TV set should be 100. Press and hold the TV button on the remote while entering the code. The light should blink 5 times if it was accepted, and then you can test to see if it worked.

If you accidentally change your dvd command mode setting to say 1, or 2, and the default is 3, You can only get the remoter to work by turning on the dvd recorder and if you had it on dvd1, as it will display when pushing any button on the remote, hold your enter button and the number your setting is on. this will solve the issue and you can access your dvd player again. If the command mode is on dvd 2, you hold down the enter button and the #2 down. It took me a while, but it will work.
