I think you need to replace some parts with the Culligan-set 01016267 . I did have the same problem and after it was replaced everything went just as normal.

SOURCE: culligan gold series 9'' water softener has a constant error code

It has been my experience that when you have made several attempts to correct the error codes as directed in the owners manual, you most likely have a defective controller.
You should contact Cuno and locate a service representative near you to see about getting the controller replaced.

SOURCE: No salt leaving Culligan softener during regen

It sounds like your salt in your salt compartment is stuck. Poor about a couple of gallons of hot water on top of your salt and see if that will break it up and fall down to the bottom of your salt container. Then regenerate your softener after about 3 hours have gone by. You should be back in business.

SOURCE: water softener is inoperative and is displaying E1

Usually, an E1 error code means the circuit board is bad. Try unplugging the unit for 5 minutes. Upon plugging it back in, if it does not reset itself, that means you need a new board. It is really easy to replace ( just a few wires) and will cost around $160.

SOURCE: I have a Culligan water softener and noticed

There is a problem with the piston/seal pack assembly pack in the valve. The seals get worn or some debris gets stuck and causes softener to run to the drain. The seal pack assembly needs to be replaced. If you are handy, you can do this. It takes about 1/2 hour for a novice.
Parts are only available from Culligan.

What is an E3 code on a Culligan Medalist Series?

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/859287/Culligan-Medallist-Series.html?page=8

Quoting from link to free manual shown:

FAILURE MODE
There are certain conditions that can be interpreted by the circuit board as a failure of the drive motor or motor
position switch. Upon failure detection the control will cease further operation. A telephone hand set symbol will be
shown in the upper left corner of the display and the error code will be shown. Listed below are the different error
codes.
1. Motor Always Turning
Error code "E1" occurs when the circuit board detects changes in the motor program switch when the motor is
not supposed to be turning. The phone icon and "E1" will be lit in the display.
2. Motor Never Turns
The Culligan Medallist Series control is equipped to detect no change in the motor position when the motor is
supposed to be turning (motor or piston locked in a frozen position). The AccuSoft circuit board will apply
power to the motor for 20 seconds. If there is no change in the motor homing or position switch, the control will
power down for 1 minute. The circuit board will repeat this procedure two more times in an attempt to remove the
obstruction. If no movement has been detected, the control will permanently power down and a phone icon and
an "E2" will appear in the display.
3. Homing Error
Error code "E3" occurs when the circuit board detects when the control is unexpectedly in the home position.
The phone icon and "E3" will be lit in the display.
Error Display Cancellation
The error code display can be removed by removing the power to the control for 1 minute. After clearing an error
condition, the control will default to the factory settings when power is restored.

My water softener is inoperative and is displaying ''E1'' in the status window.

Hi,

Two possible ways to resolve this:

1. (the easiest to try first) - Unplug the unit from the electrical supply for 20-30 minutes and then restore power. This may clear the error code.

2. The error normally means that the motor has encountered some form of resistance - i.e. a blockage of debris in the piston seal inside the valave or possibly it could be due to a microswitch not activating correctly which could cause the piston to stop in an incorrect position. This would normally be a job for the service team; however if you are feeling that you want to tackle this yourself you could refer to the diagram in the user manual to disassemble the unit and investigate further. In all liklihood a clean may well fix the issue

Regeneration is nightly as oppsoed to the prrprogrammed 14 days

"DAYS00" indicates it is set to run every day. You may have lost power and it reset to factory settings. If the Gold series softener you have is the Aqua Sensor model (this is a probe in the resin tank that senses a change in the water chemistry and sends a signal to regenerate) the probe can get coated with iron and will either send NO signal or a Constant signal which will make it regen every night.
Usually a Gold series softener is either set up as metered or aqua sensor. There is an option for an override (such as 14 days) or it can be set up as a time clock model. Unplug the softener for 2 minutes and plug back in, re-program the controls to "DAY14". Make sure what the system is suppose to be set up as, Meter, AS, Time Clock.
Here is a link to Culligan for the Gold manual.

Culligan water softener noise?

The noise you heard was probably the backwash cycle. Condditioners are usually scheduled to backwash at nightg while you are sleeping. If you have had a power outage, it may have thrown the timer off. Reset the time on the conditioner so that the backwash cycle happens at a more appropriate time. As for the noise, it's probably the timer. They are usually mechanical and do make some noise. I think the Culligan units tell you when to change the salt.
Good luck.
