SOURCE: Mouse not recognized/ mouse port not working

I kept hold about 30 seconds the blue light button on the USB controller device and it worked!. I guess that's the way to sinchronize both the mouse and the USB controller of the mouse. Ramón.

SOURCE: USB mouse not recognized

I have similar problem. 2 inland KVM's (both have PS2 inputs, one has USB outputs) do not light or recognize my usb mouse with a PS2 adapter. They do recognize a PS2 ball mouse on the KVM's however. One of the computers (Sony vaio 1.5 GHz) does recognize a usb mouse with adapter on 2 other KVM's (Old Belkin and a Trendnet) (the second computer I have not tried in those configurations). Next I will try an optical mouse with a PS2 fitting. That did work with a fifth KVM at an auto business last week.

SOURCE: USB Keyboard and mouse wont work with PS2 KVM with adapter

Don't use USB-PS2 adapters if the keyboard/mouse doesn't support such adapters. They aren't universal, they work only with some "smart" (or chinese) keyboards that can detect the connection type and switch between USB and PS/2.

My computer wont read my mouse or keyboard

Are these wired or wireless, USB or PS2 connections..

PS2 Connectors should only be worked when the computer is Turned Off
USB can be Hot Swapped..

If USB try another USB port ..If PS2 make sure they weren't swapped by accident
Check your BIOS
Try another another Keyboard / Mouse

How do I connect the mouse?

i am assuming you have a usb mouse and a PS2 connection on the computer. If this is the case then you need a female usb to ps2 mouse adapter
So that the mouse cable plugs into the USB female connection and the male ps/2 plug end goes int othe female ps2 port on the computer.
If this is the case you have the wrong converter the chester will convert a ps/2 on the mouse or keyboard to a usb on the back of the computer.. Can you tell us what sort of mouse you are trying to connect does the end of the cable have a usb plug on it a bit like the blue usb plug in your picture.
If this is the case then you need a female usb to ps2 mouse adapter
Google it and see the difference.

I have a dell inspiron desktop that has no ps2 port, only USB. From my older computer I would like to use my microsoft ergonomic keyboard that has a ps2 plug. I bought a PS2 to USB adapter but when I...

Hello,

The adapter you purchased is for use with a PS/2 mouse only. The only keyboard adapters will have keyboard and mouse in a "Y" adapter. The single adapters will not work for keyboards because they do not have the conversion electronics to go from PS/2 to USB, mice can work on either one. Do a google search for "usb to PS2 dual port adapter" you can get them for around $2 plus shipping.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Hello, i currently use a IBM desktop with IBM keyboard and mouse but i just bought a microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse which i just installed into my desktop using the installation CD. They are both...

Hi Tony,
It appears that you have an IBM desktop whose BIOS isn't capable of booting off of a USB keyboard and mouse device. Older computers used to require that a PS2 mouse and keyboard be attached before booting, to prevent you from booting a machine without any way of controlling it. You have 3 options:

1. leave the corded mouse and keyboard attached and never use them
2. update the BIOS for your desktop to the newest one in hopes that the updated BIOS will allow for USB mouse and keyboard operation
3. go to a computer store and get a PS2 to USB converter/adapter. They're small and relatively inexpensive. It plugs into the PS2 port, and makes your computer think that there's a PS2 device connected, when it's actually a USB device.

USB Keyboard and mouse wont work with PS2 KVM with adapter

Have you tried rebooting once it is connected? Not sure if it makes a difference, but I know you can not hook up PS2 peripherals without rebooting.

How do i connect my PS2 with my PC

on the back of your computer box, you will (probably) find 2 ports that look like this. the PS2 mouse will be plugged into the green colored port. NOTE: PS2 mice (and keyboards) will only fit into the port ONE DIRECTION, so don't force it! make sure to line it up

once plugged in, you will need to reboot your computer, as PS2 can only be recognized while the computer is starting up.

one final note: some of the newest computers DO NOT have PS2 ports. if this is true of your computer, you will need to get a new mouse, or an adapter, like the one shown below:b6b70e7.jpg

Mouse and keyboard not recognized on second computer

Solution for the mouse. I have 8 KVM's. Most of my computers work with the KVMs. On 1 inland KVM the logitect and Microsoft optical mice do not work on one computer (but work with the other computers). They both are USB. I hook them up with a USB to PS2 adapter. If I use a ps2 ball mouse connected to the KVM the mouse works. All the Mice work if I directly connect them. Since I do not want a ball mouse I got a Frisby optical PS2 mouse. It works with all the computers on the KVM's.

I do not have a solution for the Keyboard yet. 1 computer (ASUS MB) on my trendnet or belkin 4 postion KVM does not recognize the keyboard.

Keyboard intermittent

There might be a problem with the keyboards PS2 port. You can bypass the PS2 port all together by buying a PS2 Y-adapter to usb port. This Y adapter will allow you to plug your PS2 mouse & keyboard into it and than you plug the other end into a free usb port. You do not have to plug the PS2 mouse in if you do not want to. Just plug in the keyboard. If your keyboard functions than there is a prolem with the keyboard's PS2 port. The PS2 Y-adapter to USB runs about $12.00 to $15.00. You can find one at Wallmart.
