SOURCE: my galaxy 959 cb radio wil not put out any transmit
Hi,
Based on your post of no transmit, a couple of possibilities:
1. defective microphone or cord or PTT switch (the red TX light does not come on when pressed);
2. TX light comes on but no output, defective finals and/or drivers. These are the transistors screwed to the chassis of the radio very near the antenna terminal;
3. defective regulator IC that provides the TX B+;
5. insufficient amperage from you power supply;
6. too high SWR.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: refurbished dx 959 from galaxy no modulation? no transmitt?
If there is no transmit at all, it sounds like it wasn't fully refurbished. If it is just low modulation then just turn VR16 and VR14 all the way to the left.
If its not working at all, send it back. It hasn't been refurbished.

SOURCE: i need to up modulation on galaxy 959
Turning up the radio's power will not make your receive any better.
Turn your mic gain up. You can also use a power mic. this will bring your audio up.
If you want to turn your modulation up, turn VR16 up all the way. I can't remember which way turns it up. its always different in different radios. Try to the left all the way first. They test it. If no one hears you, you turned it all the way down. if that is the case open it up and turn it all the way the other direction.
After doing that you should have no trouble with your signal being low.
If you are not comfortable playing inside the radio, just get a good power mic, or take it to a radio shop. they are usually at truck stops. For $30 usually they will turn it all the way up.
