SOURCE: Bought a Ryobi weed trimmer CS26 from Home Depot.

just cheap equipment. Mark it up to experience and do not purchase equipment fro home center or box stores ever again.

This is just one of the many problems of dealing with

the box stores rather than a full service qualified dealer. If you can

find one in your area, patronize them. Not just when the box store

lets you down but for everything. These type dealers are

disappearing and are not being replaced and soon they will all be

gone.

SOURCE: have no book.need to know

Managing weeds in your lawn doesn't have to be time consuming, especially with the aid of a weed eater. However, when your weed eater runs out of line, you don't have to throw the weed eater away. You can restring the weed eater and continue using it. 1. Make sure your weed eater is not plugged into a power source. 2. Turn your weed eater over, exposing the hub underneath the shield guard. Take off the hub cover by pressing the release tabs and pulling the cover straight off. The hub cover is the protective cap over the spool. 3. Remove the spool. Remove any old line from the spool and throw the line away.
4. Insert the end of the new bulk line into the hole in the spool leaving about a 1/2-inch tail. 5. While keeping the end secure, pull the rest of the line through the slot in the spool to lock it in place. 6. Wind the bulk line onto the spool, being sure to follow the direction of the arrow. Be sure to wind the line tightly and evenly, stopping at the ridge markings. 7. Insert the end of the line through the eyelet in the spool hub, pulling the line tightly through it. Hold securely to the end of the line while placing the spool into the hub with the arrow facing up.
8. Gently press the spool into place, being careful to keep the line from being caught under the spool. 9. Replace the hub cover before use.

I hope the steps are helpful in resolving your concern.

I need to know how to restring my Twist & Edge RTE weedeater. I've looked everywhere & can't find an answer that makes sense. PLEASE Help.

I found this solution on the net. I hope it helps.

Unscrew cap and remove. Remove line guide ring. Note which way to put line guide ring back on, slot to outer edge. Remove the empty spool.

Don't take spool apart unless you need to get inside to remove string. The outer half should be yellow. Cut 25 ft. of .065 line. Start pushing the line inside the spool from the center making sure the string is winding inside in a counter clock direction which should be shown on the spool. Keep pushing until there is about only 6 in. left.

Replace spool. Then the line guide ring, making sure to pull the string through the middle of it. Then hold the string on the slot in the ring while replacing the cap.

Need to change the weedeater line.

There should be a half sphere-like object on the bottom of the spool where the line goes. Twist counter clock-wise to remove.

If it is a duel line trimmer then:

Cut two separate pieces of string, about 7 ft. each.

Stick the end of the line in the hole on the inside of spool.

Wind clockwise onto spool, putting the line that is closest to the ground on first.

Once you have winded this piece on, lock the last 4 inches of line through the slits on spool.

Repeat process for second piece of line, locking the last 4 inches in slot opposite the other locked in piece.

Put the spool on the trimmer, feeding the end of lines through either hole on trimmer.

Before you push the spool all the way on, pull the strings out of the locked position.

If it is a single line trimmer: Then just wind a single piece of string clockwise onto spool. This may need to be longer than 7ft.

Once you have the string wound onto the spool, place the spool onto the shaft and pull the strings out of the slots so that the string feeds through the holes without going through the slots. Good luck...Lee
