SOURCE: Appliance plug needed

This is quite a comprehensive list of small appliance part suppliers. I recommend you go to this site, once it opens in your web browser, press "Ctrl f" which will open a little word search window. Type in "rival" in the space and click "next". Each time you press next "rival" will be highlighted in the next company that sells their parts. You should then be able to find the web-site for that company by scrolling down a bit further.

I have just taken apart the probe / thermostat of this model for a friend. I am an amateur, but it is such an amazingly SIMPLE piece of equipment (in the non-digital, i.e. mechanical thermostat model I'm looking at, that it is clear that the light will be "on" if the thermostat is sending electricity to the heating element, WHETHER OR NOT the element is broken or even connected to thermostat: In other words, if the light is not going on with thermostat knob in any position but OFF, the problem is with the thermostat: The pilot light goes on even if thermostat is NOT PLUGGED INTO the pan; when functioning properly, which one can observe on working pan even w/o taking it appart. But if you have digital model, this will be of less sure use to you, tho the way two yellow wires go to pilot light INDEPENDENT of power returning from pan itself, it suggests the same may be true with all their models.

I need a electric cord for rival skilet model #S160

I have good news and bad news. The bad news is an exact replacement temperature control/electric cord is not available. The good news, however, is there are several different "generic" temperature control/electric cords out there that will work on your S160. I am including a link where you will be able to find a replacement that will work with your skillet. I'm sorry but that's the best I can do for you right now...I just hope this helps you. Here is the link: http://buyitnow64.stores.yahoo.net/sunbeamprobe.html

The Sunbeam probe pictured works well with Rival skillets.

Good Luck!

Inoperative Rival model # S16

the thermistor is low cost relative to the pan. If you can idenify it by the component number you can replace it or maybe find an equivalent. How did you get the controller apart?
