If it is a 3 speed bike (Sturmey Archer hub) just look on the hub for the year and month of manufacture. The bike will have been produced within about a year after that date. For example the hub in the image was manufactured in September (9) of 1962.

Exact year is not important, and nobody can give you the info you seek without research, which you can and should do yourself. Google the following:
Churchill Deluxe bicycle
Churchill Deluxe serial number
Hercules serial number

If the bike has a Sturmey Archer 3 speed you will find stamped on the hub the month and year it was manufactured. The bike model will generally be within a year of that date. In any case the bike is not worth a huge amount of money - well under $200.

It would help if you had at least provided the type of bike (old coaster brake, 3 speed, 10 speed, etc.) The make is Schwinn, the model is written right on the bike frame or chainguard. If the bike is repainted so that the model is not visible it's not worth much. The derailleur mechanism, as its name implies, 'derails' the chain from one rear sprocket to the next, either larger (for a lower gear) or smaller (for a higher gear). It is spelt that way as it is a French invention.

Value is dependent on type of bike (esp. # of speeds), equipment level and mechanical/paint condition. Check Craigslist for similar bikes. Serial number is not helpful - need model of bike.
