I have the same problem, only the shadow runs from top to bottom on the left side of the screen. I have had the projector for about 4 years and I thought it must be time to replace the bulb. It did not help and now the picture is not as bright as it use to be also. Bulb replaced 12/17/07 I would appreciate any advice.

    thank you

I took the projector ap part and found that the square box / glass pris-sim had come ap-part. I also cleaned the color wheel. The picture is back to normal. I used 60 sec epoxy to put the square box back together.

Is your projector ceiling mounted? This is a common problem with these projectors, I am assuming that this projector is ceiling mounted because the shadow would be on the left if it is the right way up. This is caused by the light tunnel (a sort of hollow box made of mirrors) collapsing. It will have to be replaced but can also be glued (araldite epoxy or similar NOT SUPER GLUE) back together if the mirrors are still in good condition but requires a lot of patience. Best left to someone who has done this before as the colour wheel has to be removed and this is very delicate.

Do you have the projector inside a hush box? If so, it could be too far back in the box. Readjust and see if that removes your shadow.
or
You may have a haze on your lenses. Have you tried cleaning your color wheel and associated lenses? This procedure is for the skilled since you must disassemble your projector. Keep in mind that the color wheel is VERY, VERY fragile. Use a lens cleaning agent or 91% isopropyl alcohol and q-tips. The agent must not leave a haze. Have plenty of time and patience since this may take you about an hour just to clean the color wheel. Did I mention that the color wheel is VERY fragile…

SOURCE: shadow on right side of screen

Shadows on the left or right (if the projector is ceiling mounted) of the projected image area has nothing to do with the DMD it is the light tunnel tha is at fault. See other posts about this problem.

My zenith lcd tv has horizontal black lines whih form a band about 3 inches wide across the screen, sometimes the band looks more like a dark shadow than lines other times the right side of the screen...

This is either 1 of 2 things, first it could be faulty panel tabs , in this case, there is nothing you can do and is unrepairable....2) you could take the back off the tv and you will see 2 ribbons going from your t-con board to the panel tabs (top center of tv) remove them carefully and reseat them. This is a common problem. Tv repair tech 15 years! Best of luck.

I have shadowing on the edges when in wide-screen. When in normal screen the image is fine. How do I get rid of the shadow? Also, is there a way to clean the mirror inside the unit?

the only way to properly and safely clean anything inside is with canned air. as for the shadow, replace the light tunnel. you can get the part from an infocus service center and replace it yourself, or send it in for repair. either way, try av solutions in ny. they're really good. www.avsolutionsny.com

4805 shadow

I had the same problem just 99 hours after changing the lamp for the first time. The problem you describe is most likely the light tunnel that is cracked. I wasn't able to buy a new one on my own, I had to turn it in for repair. The light tunnel is only a couple of mirrors that the light travels between.

Shadow down right side of screen on a toshiba 44NHM84 44" DLP television

shadows at the bottom of the screen sound like moisture that was "wicked up" between the screen layers and dryed out leaving a stain. DO NOT get these screens wet, use nothing but a damp soft cloth; just a few drops of water running down the screen can cause a fairly large stain. Some people have suggested that they may be professionally cleaned, but the risk of damage is too great on the user level.
