Since this is a vintage item, the cost is whatever the market will bear, wherever you're trying to sell it. I would suggest checking current prices on sites such as eBay, where one is currently being offered to sell at $200, while another is being offered for $90. The perceived value is what determines the selling price at this point, because the MSRP is long irrelevant by now, being that it's a discontinued item.

Hi Can I fit disc brakes to my sones Giant MTX 225?

Not unless you see the tabs required to mount traditional standardized disc brakes on the fork and left seat stay.

Converting this bike to disc will cost you more than the bike is worth. Get a bike with disc on it.

There are some schemes for adding disc to non-disc-compatible frames but they're Rube Goldberg solutions. And you still need to get new wheels and new brake levers if you're going with hydraulics.

Has mtx stop selling the mtx ta81001?

Hello t3h_b,

The MTX web site shows the amp as a current product.

http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/ sells the amp and claims to have it in stock. However, MTX lists only 2 authorized online resellers:
www.crutchfield.com and www.sonicelectronix.com

Crutchfield doesn't list the amp at all and SonicElectronix shows it as "discontinued". I'd recommend going to MTX's contact page and ask them directly. They'll usually respond within a day or two.

Hope this helps.

My mtx 81000d amp is burned in a few different places.

Depending on whats wrong with it, bench fees to check it usually start at $45 and then they will tell you parts and labor. without knowing what burned up its hard to quote.

Mtx ta7801 amp not working

Depending on where you live, Car Tunes is a good place to fix it but it might cost a good amount. I have a mtx 1501XD and the same problem, lights but no sound i saw no marks inside mine however. They told me i was better off buying a new one bc it was going to cost so much to fix most likely. That was coming from a guy I know so they were just trying to **** money out of me either, he does sound for a living.

Subwoofer

Your overdriving the Subs and burning up the voice coils. Its really not worth fixing. It almost costs the same to fix as to buy a new one. Set you Amp gain down low. Then crank up the volume with a bass test. Slowly crank up the gain until you get some distortion. Then reduce the gain slightly. You will be set then to crank it up to the distortion level and not blow you speakers. Open a can of whoopass on anyne the cranks up on your gain. It will be costing you another set of MTX's.

Mtx blue thunder pro3002

Take this apart and look at the magnet wire windings look for any thing broke or burnt. If not it is very likely it is more cost effective to buy new.
