I have a 2014 60HP Mercury outboard 4 stroke motor, where is the voltage regulator and how do i replace it?

It's on the Port side of the engine. Just above the oil filter. There are some electric connetors bolted at the same time.
It's held on the engine by 2 metric 6 bolts, use a 10mm wrench.

WHATS THE FUEL AND OIL RATIO FOR 25HR 2CYL OUTBOARD MERCURY

need the year of manufacture as some 2 stroke units have oil injection that automatically mixes the oil in the correct ratio for engine rpms otherwise it is 50:1 ( 50 parts fuel to 1 part oil)
oil requirements --certified tc-w3 2 stroke outboard oil ---not ordinary engine oil

What year is a mercury 35hp outboard motor with serial number2491265.Is the motor 2 or 4 stroke

the serial number begins 2487558 and continues past 2491265 and as the beginning serial number denotes the year , your engine is 1969 model
it shows as a 2 stroke with auto oil injection
check the heads
if the plugs are in the flat of the head and there are no rocker covers it is 2 stroke

Do I use reg gas or a gas mix?

Matt, If engine is two stroke and not oil injected then yes you must mix 2 stroke oil and fuel. 4 stroke engine have a crank case which is filled to proper level with 4 stroke engine oil. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

How do i replace the water pump in a 2005 150 hp evinrude outboard motor

Take the cowling off. Also drop the foot. There wil be a stainless linkage rod that runs the length of the motor that you will have undo to drop the foot. The water impeller will be inside a stainless casing that you will have to disassemble.

If i had year make and model I could give you detailed instruction. You can do a few simple test to make the troubleshooting easier. Tools(1) A compression gauge (2) a spark gap tester.(3) A Clymer service manual for your engine. (you can purchase from your local dealer). I know all these are expensive but if your going to be a outboard owner you will always need them. Troubleshooting (1) check compression. without the year make and model I'm giving you a average numbers. Look at your Clymer manual for exact numbers. all cylinders need to be over 100 lbs and equal each other within 5 lbs.(2) check spark. use a spark gap tester all cylinders should jump a half inch gap. if you have good compression and good spark, fuel is the problem nine times out of ten.Ethanol gas is proven to stay stable in fuel systems for only 30 days in 90 + degree heat. It turns to a gummy residue called varnish. It clogs up carberators and fuel injection system. I don't know year make and model so i dont know what fuel system you have. clean fuel lines replace primer bulb and replace all fuel filters. Yamaha has a gravity filter under engine cover clean it. mercury fuel injected outboards has a canister fuel filter under engine cover. Finally replace spark plugs, I know spark plugs probably don't look bad but this is a outboard. Fresh spark plugs means less resistance for the ignition system. The ignition system is week compared to automotive. Test drive boat, if the problem is still there then there is further steps to take. Again I don't know the year model so I guessing on fuel delivery system. Pull out your clymer manual. what is great about the Clymer Manual for Novice techs is it gives detailed info on your outboard. Troubleshooting tips and teaches you how your outboard works.

has your boat been sitting more than 60 days. ethanol gas has been proven to only stay stable for 30 days in 90 degree + weather. Labor cost can be up to $100.00 per hour. 1974 60hp johnson outboard won't run on full throttle under load , max 10%. New fuel and filters ect. The motor is old but has very low hours.

Carbs probably need to be cleaned and re-built. Common problem in outboards that havent been run in a while
