Unplug the machine. Unscrew the 3 screws under the front edge of the washer. The service technician manual is attached to the panel that slides down and off. Find F21 code. See suggested procedures. Note: My drain pump filter had a baby wash cloth in it along with some change that was disrupting the flow. It is exceptionally easy to remove, clean, and reinstall. Just line up installation notches when reinstalling. Whirlpool should have mentioned this filter in the User & Care Guide, but I could not find it anywhere in there.

SOURCE: Kenmore 417. 4405200 Front Load Washer error code E43

It's a bad wax motor inside the door latch. The diagnostics are buggy and do not test it properly. It should measure about 1.5K ohms, and when 120 VAC is applied to it, it should extend in about a minute. Part number 12002535 is $10 to $15.

Hoover washing machine error code16 has come on

Hi!

Baically, Hoover washing machine error code E16 means that there are problems with the insulation of the heater. this may lead to the shutdown of the circuit breaker and other random errors, but this is difficult to prove without replacing the heating element.

What does e16 mean please?

An E16 error code means there is a heater insulation problem which could cause the tripping of your fuse box and other random cycle errors, but it's hard to prove without the replacement of your heater.

What is error code 16

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

If it is an Optima with a brushless motor (I only have those fault codes for Hoover), 'E16' means 'water heater element insulation fault'. Sorry ;-0(

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

My Whirlpool GHW9100L was tripping out with a F11 error during the rinse/spin cycle as the unit was ramping up to spin speed with a small load in the wash bin. I reset the unit several times after...

Hi.

In your case the problem is more likely a worn connector or a defective board.

F11 is communication error between CCU (main control unit) and MCU (motor control unit - additional control module connected to motor and to CCU, located in a sealed box inside the washer).

This usually means that either CCU or MCU is defective. In some case the connectors or the wiring harness connecting the two modules is the problem.

The tech sheet says:

F11:Serial Communication Error
Communication between the Central Control Unit (CCU) and the Motor Control Unit (MCU) cannot be sent correctly.
Solution:
* Check Wire Harness connectors to the MCU, the motor, and Central Control Unit (CCU)
* Check the Drive system for any worn or failed components
* Check MCU
* Check CCU
* Check Motor
* Check Wire Harness

The wiring harness is tested using a multimeter to ensure that there is continuity between the MCU and CCU connectors. If a single wire is good it will read zero Ohms (closed) from contact to contact.
Motor is tested reading Ohms, it must be read about 6 Ohms on three different pairs of contacts.
Drive system in motor is checked observing if any of the parts are broken.
MCU and CCU are tested reading volts during operation and testing at component level. The testing must be done by a tech. Check CCU to see if there is any sign of failure (eg burnt spots).

Most of the time the problem is CCU. Trick to repair it include testing and eventually reheating the solder joint of the two on-board relays, cleaning connector contacts with circuit cleaner solution. This in case that the problem is CCU.

Disconnect the unit from power for five minutes as first test. This will reset CCU.
