Speaker Mackie 450 v2. When turned on it works fine for a little while and then turns off. I have to wait long time before I am able to turn it on again. Cable change -same result. How can I fix it.

IS there a circuit board inside that speaker? You are correct about the general loss of sound quality that usually occurs with speaker failure. Best way to check is with a meter or a scope
This is a very fragile design, very efficient though but never as reliable as SRM450V1, they did this for lighter weight purposes but definitively would not recommended, almost certainly better to buy the whole amp instead try to fix the thing out because of plenty of distasteful results/smoke will show up in the 85% of the attempts so consider yourself warned, good luck.
The actual cone it self... There is no permanent fix for this you can try to use clear nail polish on it by removing the grill and applying polish to ripped portion of the speaker
