My Compaq Presario 2500 has been doing the continuous beeping at boot up. My power button is/has been stuck (for awhile) and the only way I can turn it on is by using the quick hit buttons. I think these buttons might be sticking too. During the beeping the screen shows a long row of verticle lines (maybe a quarter inch high), the lines start to fill in like something is being loaded then the beeping stops and the computer continues to boot up with no other hitch. Once the computer boots up the beeping goes away. I wasn't sure if the sticky buttons had anything to do with the repetitive beeping or if there is something more serious happening. Does anyone have a clue? I haven't taken it anywhere yet to have it looked at.

    Thanks

Computer makes beeping noise

The beeping is telling you something ... counting the beeps and matching that to the make and model on a beep decoder would answer your question.

What are you going to do about the switch controlled outlet? Id suggest you run a power strip from another hot all the time outlet. It is a death sentence to continue to shut your computer off with first warning it.

I hope this helps you

Turning on my gateway 510 x PC I get a black screen/white cursor

Did you make any changes recently (add memory, etc.)? Does it make any beeping noises on startup? I've had this problem occur when putting in the wrong type of memory. If you haven't added memory and there is beeping on startup, find the manufacturer of the MOBO and you should be able to find a beep startup code to tell you what the issue is.

My Big Screen making a loud beeping noise!

The beeping noise is usually related to the Horizontal out put transistor or flyback being faulty or one of the coils are loose near the flyback. If you remove the rear cover without touching anything can you tell if the beeping is coming from the large transformer with the red wire coming out of the top or is it coming from a black transistor on a aluminum heat sink.

Redeye

Red-eye is actually caused by the light from the flash bouncing off the back of the retina and picking up the color red from the blood vessels. To correct this effect, follow these steps: Turn the mode dial to PlayBack Mode (green arrow) and display the image with redeye. Press OK\Menu button. Using the arrow pad, navigate to MODE MENU>EDIT>REDEYE FIX. Press the right arrow key, START will display. Press OK\Menu After {BUSY} bar displays, a screen will display with an option to cancel or save the image. ? If the option [Go] is displayed, press the OK\Menu button. This saves a corrected version of the image. ? If the option CANCEL is displayed, than the camera was unable to correct the image. Press the left arrow key to exit. This correction may not work on all pictures. If you import the original image into Olympus Master software you can also apply the Red-Eye fix located in the Edit menu. This lets you precisely pinpoint the eye area and remove the red. It even lets you remove green or blue, which can occur with animals.
