Has UE code even without a load inside. Does sometimes finish with laundry but often doesn't. I hear that software update is step 1 to resolution, and would like to save service fee
There is a software update to fix this issue where the washer is too sensitive to unbalance and keeps trying to rebalance a lot even when there is no load. Only LG can do the update. Call them.
Check to be sure the machine is level and that all four feet are touching the floor. Tighten the locking nuts on the feet to lock them into place. If that doesn't seem to be the problem, either the suspension rods or shock absorbers may be broken or worn out.

Open and close lid, listen for 'clicking' sound. If no 'clicking' sound, check/replace lid switch. Also try tightening the lid hinge screws on the left side. if these screws come loose, the machine will not operate
