Question about Timex IRONMAN Triathlon Data Link T53722 Wrist Watch for Men
You will find them on the module itself.
So after replacing the battery look on the PCB (printed circuit board) for the letters"AC" and "VSS". Adjacent to these markings there should be little contact points (probably gold or silver looking in colour)
Use a paper clip or similar and bridge (short) these two points simultaneously. Please rate my solution.

In my Ironman Datalink 851 they are here:
I did not do this a week ago when replacing the battery and that brand-new battery died in less than 2 days. I hope performing the reset tonight on yet another new battery will be the right way for the watch to function without sucking down this battery too.

Interesting observation. I had sent in a watch to the Timex repair service for a new battery and it came back with a Low Batt indicator on it. I wonder if not resetting it was the cause. Regardless, thanks for this picture. Even under magnifiers, I couldn't find anything labeled with the letters"AC" and "VSS".
Thanks for this excellent picture. I have replaced the battery in my datalink USB many times without any issue. This time, however, the watch would not beep (no button beep, no alarm, etc.) after I replaced the battery. Resetting the watch by shorting these two pads solved that problem. BTW, AC pad is labeled on my watch, but VSS pad did not have a label I could see, unless it is under the battery.

Problem is the pads are not labelled, at least not on my T53722.
