I have a Sony KP-51WS510 projection TV. The convergence was OK one evening, then way off the next day. I could not be adjusted. I pull the D board which has the convergence chip and sent it to Sony. I got a new board, but still have the same convergence problems. The flash focus and manual convergence controls do not adjust the convergence. I see 3 images...red, green and blue.

Did you check the two pico fuses on the G board? Usually at least one will blow when the original ICs failed. I am attaching a pic that shows the 2 pico fuses on the G board.

sounds like some of the 4.7 ohm resistors may be burnt. or possibly a solder short on the IC pins.

You need a Sony original remote--even a Sony universal will not access the menu.

With the Sony remote (Almost any Sony projection remote will work) you can adjust in the customer mode or enter the TECH menu for fine adjustment all over the screen.

If you get one and do not know how to enter the TECH menu--let me know and I will tell you how to do it and adjust there.

you have bad convergence chips, 2 of them stk392-570, you must pull the board out and older in the chips, you probably need a tv repairman.

Please check pico fuses in D board and confirm +22 & -22 volt supply to convergence ICs.
Fuse numbers are as follows...

PS8001, PS8002, PS8003, PS8004, PS8005, PS8006

D board is Deflection Board and has convergence ICs qty 02. If tv has problem of convergence, either you need to replace complete board or replace defective parts ( STK ICs) check IC8001 & IC8002 in D board.
If you have electronics knowledge and experience of tv repair, you can make it.

Your tv has a convergence board problem. Two convergence IC's need to be replaced.

some have plastic clips that need to be pressed back to release the board. There should also be 6 screws holding the D board to its frame.
