Philips blu-ray player--BDP2185/F7B user's manual. Mine is installed and I have a remote, but no instructions.

What do you mean it does not do anything. Does the door open or try to open? If the door does not respond to the open and close functions you may want to try to gently press on the door and quickly release it. I have found that works at times. There are various reasons this could occur. Is the door trying to open? Is there a DVD stuck in the drive?

Is the power light on; I assume it is. Is the DVD tray making any attempt to open? A last resort would be to pull the plug but first I would try quickly but gently pressing on the DVD door and releasing. This often has worked for me.

Not respond to what? Is it the remote that is not responding or the unit itself? exactly what is not happening? are there any lights on or functions trying to work?
