I can't open my driver side rear door from either the outside or inside. When i try and open it from the inside there is tension from the handle. I took the framing from the handle off of the inside door panel to take a look and the mechanisms seem to be working at the lock and handle of the door.
You will need to remove the inside door panel, what that takes I don't know, but it must come off to access the door latch, there you will likely find the latch release control rod has come off or the latch is defective.
