mcdevito75 here, Sounds like the chlorine in the pool water dis-colored the band, not to mention, possibley the watches mechanism also. Look for a small watch repair shop in your area for a new band and possible remedy for the water inside the watch.

The springbars can be retracted using a small tweezers but a springbar tool will make it a much easier job. You can get one from Amazon or ebay for under $5 - search "springbar tool" to find them.

Save your nerves and your money. Visit your nearest watch repair shop and ask to get links out. If you will try to do it yourself, you will loose your strap as you wont be able to put it back together. If you anyway decided to do it yourself, click on my profile and check out my solutions. I do explained all this tricky job to one customer about a year ago, so, you will definitely find it if you have enough patience to go through all my solutions. Rate me plz.

You look for the end of the link that has a screw like notch and tap it out with a small screw driver (like a eyeglass screwdriver or any thing you can sub,) and pull out with a needle nose pliers. Be careful and out the band on a rubber or paper surface though.
Providing you have the tools. I did mine in 3 min.

I just bought an Athletic Works watch at WalMart that is identical to the Aquatech watch I bought there some years ago. My band got hard and cracked so I needed to buy a new one as the band is not available. For $9 the entire watch is probably cheaper than a band. I used the instructions from my Aquatech to set the stuff on the AW. I found the instructions on the internet. Here is one site that has them.

I just recieved a Moldavo Men's Junior Sport (Model # 0605105 with certificate of authenticity) as an award -- but the instructions didn't bother explaining how to put the watch on!

Refer to the "Hidden Clasp" diagram and follow the instructions under the diagram:

To open this clasp, reach under the bracelet band and lift upwards. The band extends to allow for easy removal.
