Hi Megan,
The first thing I would do is tear the machine down, sanitize and rebuild and properly lubricate everything. If you have a spare kit, you should install all new pump o rings and seals (Parts 4, 5, 6, 8 and 14 in the schematic). Hopefully, it is either improperly lubricated o ring, or a worn out seal and that will fix it.

The plastic pump parts do wear out over time (Parts 3 and 4) and so do the stainless steel pump sleeves (Part 1). If seals and lubrication don't correct the issue, you can start looking closer at the pump parts.

I have the tune up kit available here.

Schematics of the pumps are here with prices and part numbers.

WHAT IT MEANS R-HPR THERMAL FAIL FOR TAYLOR ICE CREAM MACHINE MODEL C713

That code means the right side hopper thermistor probe has failed. That is the sensor that reads the temperature of product in the mix hopper.

This is the part you need:

If you order it from us, I would be happy to put a technician on the phone to help you install it yourself.

I have a C712 taylor soft serve and we have one side somehow mixing in to the other ??? how is this happening ???

The separate flavors only meet at the center draw valve of the freezer door. That valve should have an H-type seal that looks like 2 connected o rings. If you haven't replaced this seal 034698 Large Basket Seal, it could be the problem. You can buy the seal individually or as part of a kit.

You can also try to make sure that the viscosity of the product is even, you don't want one side to be noticeably softer than the other.

The other possibility is there is a problem with the mix pumps. First try replacing all of the seals and gaskets. Use this kit X49463 81Tune up kit for Taylor C712. The pump parts do wear out over time including the stainless steel cylinder sleeve. If one pump was working better than the other, that could explain the mix bleeding.

If none of that takes care of the problem let me know. [email protected]

How to replace taylor C712-33 right barrel termistor.

Remove front display by removing the 5 screws on the underside. Looking at the very center paddle assembly(the part that your draw valves lift up) 2 inches to the right of that you'll see a wire connected to a plastic or copper tube that is going down into a larger copper tube. You can pull the smaller tube out of the larger tube and follow the wire to the back of the machine. Installing the new probe is the same process but reverse. Push the new probe in until it stops.

Poor Overrun on Taylor 162-12

You cannot change the overrun on a Taylor 162. Once you've properly primed the machine and installed the feed tubes, the viscosity or how firm the product is.

I do not know of any soft serve machine that will give you an 80% overrun. You can adjust the overrun on a Taylor pressurized machine like the 8756 or the C712, but I believe the limit is somewhere around 40%.

You can email me [email protected] or call 1-800-879-7839 if I can answer anymore questions for you.

On the soft Serve side of my Taylor ice cream machine it is freezing up and not letting any product come out pump still works don't know what the problem is I take everything apart clean it put it back...

if the product is frozen in the barrle for sure then you have a bad micro switch that is telling the compressor to keep running, but that product would be super frozen and come out in the shape of the barrel. if it is the consistancy of ice cream then your pump gasket might be bad and not properly pressurizing your barrel and giving you the impression of a frozen barrel.

Mix is foaming in the hopper

I have a c712 and we have noticed that when i put it in sleep mode over night the hopper was getting to warm and making the ice cream foam ( we use non dairy) on the top but still liquid on the bottom. We had to turn the sleep mode temps down for over night. We haven't had a issue after that. Hope this helps.
