I have a Tork DTS 200B timer that has been in service for 11 years. After a recent power outage (which occurs several times a year) the current time must be reset. This has not been required after other power outages. I suspect there is a battery to maintain the actual time. This timer is used in conjunction with the weekly test of a town weather warning siren.

The tv goes into standby. 2 possible causes:
1 - the power source has aged and the voltage it delivers to the other components of the tv (in particular the control processor) is no longer stable: if the voltage drops below a certain level the processor just shuts down, putting the tv in standby. The power source will have to be checked and the aged components replaced (it's most likely the capacitors).
2 - there is a power fluctuation on the mains power line - the others don't shut down because they have a lower power necessity and they are able to coup with that.. The only way to test and fix that is to run the tv thru a UPS.

Mines, two or three years old and doing the exact same thing, you ever figure out what happen or how to fix it? I took the battery out and it reads 16 volts. I put a 2 amp load (fan) on it and it pulls fine, so I'm reluctant to buy a new battery pack for it now.
