Acer one with windows 7 ultimate fall into sleep mode

A laptop computer is typically set to conserve battery power. One of the common settings called standby, sleep mode or hibernation turns off power to the screen and the laptop itself after a preset time limit passes without any mouse or keyboard activity. It can be inconvenient for the computer to shut down while you're working on an open page or during a download. Change the setting if you don't want your laptop to going into automatic shutdowns

Turn the laptop computer on with the power button if it's not set to turn on upon opening. Allow the system to boot up. Open the panel for adjusting the sleep settings. This varies among the popular versions of Windows operating systems. To change the sleep mode setting on a laptop running Windows XP, click the "Start" button, and click the "Control Panel" selection. Choose the "Performance and Maintenance" selection, and click on "Power Options." Click the "Power Schemes" tab, and click the drop downs next to "Turn Off Monitor," "Turn Off Hard Disk," "System Standby" and "System Hibernates." Select "Never" for each drop down in both the "Plugged in" and "Running on Battery Power" columns. Click the "Hibernate" tab and click to remove the check mark in the box next to "Enable Hibernation." To change the sleep settings on a Windows Vista laptop, click "Start," "Control Panel," "Systems and Maintenance" and "Power Options." Then click "Change Plan Settings" under the currently established plan. Click on the "Advanced Settings" tab and select the "Never" option on the "Sleep," "Sleep After," "Hibernate After," "Display" and "Turn off Display After" drop downs. Click the "OK" and "Save Changes" buttons to confirm the settings. To change the sleep settings on a laptop running Windows 7, click the "Start" button, choose "All Control Panel Items," select "Power Options" and click "Edit Plan Settings." Click the drop downs for "Turn off the Display" and "Put the Computer to Sleep." Choose "Never" for both and click the "Save Changes" button.

Can't perform acer aspire recovery management to my acer aspire 4730Z laptop

Hello and thank you for using Fixya's services.

Are you currently running Windows XP or Vista?

If running windows Vista, press F11 at startup, before the flashscreen appears. This will prompt the laptop into a factory restore mode.

If using Windows XP, you will need the restore disks. Most manufacturer's do not provide these with the purchase of the laptop but you can obtain a copy from the by calling their support or visiting their website. I believe the require shipping charges but do not charge for the software.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Acer aspire one, won't wake up from sleep mode, screen blank

I'm having the same problem, but I don't want to have to turn off my computer EVERY time it does this. (I have not been able to shut down the laptop normally because it goes into sleep every time.) I've heard that after 3 hours it builds up an eletrical charge and you have to take the battery out, but I havn't had it on for 3 hours at a time.

Forgot password on acer aspire 3680 windows vista basic

I've never had an acer ... but if you forgot the windows password, you're frozen. you need to run the computer in safe mode, some computers then don't requier a password. and in safe mode you can also access it via administator account, often without password, if with, someone has it, probably the person that installed the os for you. the administrator account let's you play with the passwords a lot more that your own account does.
to run in safe mode, you need restart and watch for any messages on black screen like "press F1 for bios", gist watch for something about selecting the startup mode and press the button listed. if you have quiet boot - a picture instead of most of the black screens and writings, pres escape during it to remove it. you should have the key instructions somewhere.
everything goes pretty quickly, so you might need to repeat things a bit to gett everything done fast enough.
when in safe mode, reset the vista password like usually - by the accounts manager or whatever vista has (I'm sticking to XP).

Keyboard stops responding after a powersave on laptop ACER 5715Z

The issue is that several of the Acer software products don't support Vista. You need to remove these programs.

Follow the instructions in this link
http://global.acer.com/support/winvista/t-faq.htm

Due to architectural changes to Windows Vista®,some Acer applications are not supported anymore. Below is a summary ofthese applications. Uninstall these applications before the upgrade.

Acer eRecovery Management The new version of Acer eRecovery Management, which is compatible with Windows Vista®,requires repartitioning your hard disk drive, causing data loss. As aresult, the Wizard will not reinstall the new version of eRecovery onyour computer under Windows Vista®. However, you will be able to find similar features in the built-in Backup Utility of Windows Vista®, including full system volume backup to a HDD or CD/DVD. Acer eAcoustics Management Windows Vista® supports similar functions of eAcoustics so Acer will no longer provide this utility for Windows Vista®. Acer ePresentation Management You can easily manage your external monitor settings via Windows Vista® Mobility Center. As a result, we do not support an upgrade to Acer ePresentation Management. Acer ePower Management Due to architectural changes to Windows Vista®,Acer ePower Management cannot be upgraded for some models. However, youcan easily manage your power settings via Windows Vista® Mobility Center instead. Acer ePerformance Management For notebooks only. Since Windows Vista® provides similar resource management functionalities, we will no longer provide this for notebook models with Windows Vista®. Acer Arcade™ Deluxe 3.x
Acer eNet Management 1.x
Acer eDataSecurity Management 1.x Due to architectural changes to Windows Vista®, these applications cannot be upgraded.

Alternately (not recommended) you can change your settings with the following method. I would recommend removing all the Acer software though as keeping them might cause problems.

Check under Advanced Power Options-> Multimedia Setting -> When Sharing Media. By default onBattery and Plugged is set to "Allow the computer to enter AwayMode" Changing this setting to "Allow Computer to sleep" should solve theproblem. On Battery the Away Mode "does" allow the computer to sleepproperly.

Acer Aspire 5920G startup issues

If unit is not booting you cannot use the system restore tool. And if you have not created back up disks .................

At least you did not have the machine long enough to really load it up so reloading it will not be so bad. However, ......

Maybe you picked up some computer clap? Using another machine download the malware bytes program onto a usb stick and then boot up your vista machine via the F 8 prompt (desktop + networking) during bootup.

Then when on simple desktop, insert usb stick and navigate to the file downloaded and run the app from there. Good luck!!!

Tom

You should go into the safe mode and try to uninstall or undo the previous work. Else use the system restore. But if it continues again with a blue screen error, then u should format ur pc, further if u experience blue screen error then u should note that one of ur hardware is damaged.

Thankyou...!!!

Vista logon problem

ok i know a way with windows xp , it may work with vista , just after you turn the computer on press F8 it should come up with the option to start in safe mode , start the computer in safe mode , then if u get into vista , go to user accounts in control panel , and remove the passowrd or the user , at the start u press F8 before the logo screen starts , good luck, if that dosent work you will need to reinstal a operating system , if the laptop came with a restore disk use that , it will reinstall vista , and you can start fresh , just put ur system restore cd in , start laptop, boot from cd , and away u go ,
