Most of the bluegrass is in your thumb, you play the bass strings with your thumb, and leave the rest of the job for the rest of your finger. Johnny Cash and Mark Knopfler are the two dudes who opened my eyes to bluegrass rythms. Also Johnny Can help you a lot on those bass tones try singing daily as deep as you can but don't stretch it out, just as much as you feel comfortable everyday and after a while you'll get the Barry White kinda bass sounds. And for the bluegrass thing just check the internet out there are tons of high quality in depth reviews of the thumb picking style, and try playing to a four bar backing drum track and follow it up with your thumb. And that's the rule of the thumb.

How do I rewire the pots on my LTD AX-141 4 String bass guitar. Someone has messed up the wiring thank you

There are two sites I go to for most of my guitar/amp needs. Youtube and the second is StewMac.com and look in the Trade Secrets and How to section. It may not be the exact guitar/bass but it's a real good jumping off point.
I just opened a youtube site and searched "how to rewire a bass guitar" and received 8690 how-to videos.
Good luck on this project.

What kind of string do you prefer for bass guitar?

When I play with '60s bands and blues bands I tend to use flatwound strings to get an authentic 'thump'.

Otherwise I use Elixir Roundwound - good luck

Rms b80 bass guitar amp has little volume in the low side jack , hi side jack is fine just not as much bass

The low in side jack has a lower vol. but should only be1/4 less than the high in jack on most amps, --try this,-- plug guitar in high in then take all the treble off and 1/2 mid. range bring up bass range and if you have equauzation bring down 26k 5k 10k about 2 notches or points. See if that give you better bass tone.

When I recieved my BC Rich Virgo celtic bass there was no problem. I played with it for almost an hour. Later I wanted to play another time so plugged it in. No sound came from my bass. I tried to replace...

Intermittent problems can lead one on a merry chase. The first suspect would be the guitar cable.

Players learn to check the connection to the amp is good by touching the tip of the cable and observe you get hum.

It is UNLIKELY to get two bad guitars so we need to check everything else. Cable is next suspect.

Check the cable IS for intruments and NOT speakers. Check that the tips do not spin. Some cables become worn and the sleeves no longer actuate the switch that turns the battery in the guitar on or the tip fails to make contact. Do not use cables that are intended to connect stereo systems. Use ONLY instrument rated cables.
