Hello, Zandile -

You will need to contact the South African Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF) yourself. This is the link to the GEPF home page:

In the upper right corner of the home page you will see the Contact Us link. Click or tap on it, find the telephone number, and make a call to ask your questions.

Note: is a website intended for asking and answering questions on how to go about REPAIRING THINGS.

By the way, your question initially landed in the category for Computers & Internet. I took the liberty of re-categorizing it to the Government category.

Best wishes.

Does income from a life insurance policy payout affect my pension

Yes because it is an unearned income. It goes towards your tax allowance. You continue to pay tax if your income is above the threshold to pay tax.

What is the required time to give notice for resignation? And will it have an effect on the payout of GEPF pension?

FIXYA has not the slightest idea what they require or what effect quitting has on pensions

How much can i receive if i resign right now?

Ask for a copy of the pension plan. The calculation will be in there. If you're vested (usually 7 years with the company), then the pension will be some multiple of your recent pay (maybe averaging the best 3 of the past 5), scaled down for your age (discounted for every year before 65). If don't have a "defined benefit" pension plan, then the answer is probably $0.
