The quickest way to fix this will be buy a universal remote or the original remote from amazon or ebay. All you will need is the make and model number of the tv for the original remote.

But what does it mean if the red light is on ?

  • Steven Brandon
    Steven Brandon Jun 13, 2017

It is in standby mode, The tv has power but is turned off. It's been there since the tv was new but you probably never noticed it until your child chewed on the remote and you couldn't turn on the tv. Try removing the batteries from the remote so the tv isn't picking up the signal from the remote and try turning the tv on via the power button at the tv.

  • Arely Aguilar Jun 14, 2017

Okay I tried it but it didnt work :/

Let's unplug the tv for 30 mins then plug it back in. Verify that the red light is on. Unplug any cable boxes, dvd players, and game consoles. We want any possible interference out of the way. Remove batteries from any and all universal remotes just to prevent interference and try to turn on the tv at the tv. If it works start plugging things in one at a time and turn tv off and back on after each one to see if they are interfering. Then do the remotes the same way. Let me know the results.

  • Arely Aguilar Jun 14, 2017

I did as you said but it wont work. I took off batteries all cables interfering but no its only three months old,i dont believe something can be broken inside .

Everything that you have tried points to it being an internal problem. I think it was just coincidence that your son was chewing on the remote and the tv cut off at the same time now that we have exhausted all other avenues. I suggest you call Hisense and arrange for a warranty repair of the tv. It should be under warranty if it's only 3 months old and you bought it new.

  • Arely Aguilar Jun 14, 2017

Okay sure will thank you very much appreciate your help.

Okay one more question would it be safe to take it to local place where they fix electronics because hisense wil not give service unless I have the reciept.I no longer have it.

Yes it will be but I have no idea how much they may charge for the repair.

SOURCE: red light on my hisense tv keep blinking and the tv wont come on

I see so many here with no sound/nopicture issues:

ISSUES:

1. IF sound main fuse/s are good.
2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signsof damage you can see---burnt parts etc.
3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down theproblem.
4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set.

Answers to issues:

1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the genericones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don'tput a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason.

2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses astandby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined andsome not.

Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on thepower/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--Iattach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flatand have no brown material coming out on top or bottom.

What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating(saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail.

3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have to buyand try a board to see if it fixes it or not.

4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over.If set is opened at least look for puffed up and bad caps like in thisphoto.6_2_2012_2_03_27_pm.jpg6_2_2012_2_03_55_pm.jpg

If any or all of this information is beyond you then consider the set is in shutdown as something is wrong===likely in the power supply of the set which is where most of these problems happen.
