Hello Anas, I have the same problem! Can I confirm that a new power supply board solved it?

  • Anas Kirdar Jul 26, 2017

Hello Micah, first try to disconnect the cable between main board and the power supply board and turn the tv on, if the backligh turned on that means the power supply board is working good and you need to change the main board by itself.

Hello Anas,
These failure could be a combination of the power supply and the main board failing.
I would suggest to replace both boards or if you are able to measure the voltages from the power supply and verify that the power supply is working, then you should only replace the main board.
Let me know if you require further assistance.

SOURCE: Pioneer PDP 5030 power supply problem

Ok here's how I manage solve the problem... Having the back removed opens the contacts on the interlock switch so I guess if it powers up in this state it senses the high voltages are exposed and for safety shuts down... After this the unit will not power up and the power led flashes red continuously as described before…
After some thought it occurred to me that there may not be a problem at all, just be a simple reset function for this condition… I managed to find an easy solution to this… Just call up the hidden engineer’s service menu – On 3rd generation Pioneer Plasmas it’s as follows > Power down the screen > Hold down the “Input” and “Vol +” buttons on the front > Power the screen up and the Service menu comes up on the screen > You don't need to change anything just simply power off and from then the screen should operate as normal…It did for me so I’m well happy now!!
I hope this information will help someone else one day – Good Luck!!…Rob UK…

Samsung TV PN43D450A2D powers but no sound no picture

If you've got an issue with your Samsung TV light blinking red 5 or 6 times when you try to turn it on, it's likely that you've got an issue with the power board of your TV.

Hello! I have a Samsung UN40H5203AFXZA (version TD01) that won't turn on. Now I just get a flashing red light. Would the BN44-00769A power board be the correct replacement part?

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device, [Exclude the model number] in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

Have a samsung TV UN40H5203AFXZA will not turn on. When plugged in the stand-by light blinks seven times and goes off. Changed power, main and Tcon boards. 3 lights come on the Tcon board but go off.

Please un-plug the cable between the main board & the power supply, apply the AC power to it, if the back lights come on & still on, replace the main board; if the back lights did not come on, mostly the problem is defective back light LED strips.

: Samsung UN46H5203AFXZA version TD01 ?

Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

Samsung HCH551W My TV will not turn on, the red light blinks 7 times then the power clicks off. I doesn't really turn on as the picture screen does not do anything, just the blinking red light by the...

I would suggest you remove back cover, most of these sets have a small circuit board mounted above the main chassis, it is the convergence board and has two fuses (they are green or orange and look like a resistor).

Check them like any fuse for good or bad, set should use two of the STK392-040 chips on same board---some models have the chips and fuses on main board below and are harder to get at.

I suspect and it is most common problem, the chips are bad and one of the two fuses (one for each chip) is gone, set detects no voltage and shuts down.

A photo of the inside of the set from the back would tell me which version you have.
