I HIT THE WRONG BUTTON ON HITACHI REMOTE, GET MESSAGE PLEASE EXCUTE AUTO CHANNEL SCAN FIRST. TRIED BUT STILL GET SAME MESSAGE

Do you have the tuner locked out for use of HDMI input only?
Most of the time when a selection is not able to be hi-lited it is
because a feature that is activated locks out other selections.

SOURCE: When setting up a new

you need to select cable from off your remote and run the auto scan.even if it says you does not need to run auto scan still run the auto scan.good luck.

SOURCE: it ask to please run channel auto scan

just press the key that displays on the screen when it ask run channel auto scan or go to menu and channels find auto scan then press enter

SOURCE: Lost remote for vr-2218. Trying to do auto channel scan--says to hit ENTER, but without remote, can't do ENTER. I have FIOS, but Verizon remote won't program TV. Any idea what code may be?

Codes listed in my manual for White Westinghouse are 0169 or 0003 or 0014 or 0043. Are yousure though there isn't a flip down panel somewhere which gives you the option to access "enter"

Hitachi rear proj tv Channel Manager says " This Function is not available". How do I do a channel rescan?
First make sure that the current Source or Input is set to TV. This is usually the only reason for the error message you see. To select the source, look for a Source or Input button on the original remote. If you have an universal remote with a button with the Source/Input label, you may need to try alternative codes to make the button work. (Power and channel controls will often match across multiple codes for the TV manufacturer.) Alternatively, check if there is a Source/Input button on the TV or a section of the menu system with the function. Once you set this source, try again.

Note: there was a period when manufacturers sold some TVs without tuners. They were labeled HD-ready sets. These can't do a channel scan and do not have an RF antenna jack on the set.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the model number of your Hitachi TV for more information on setting the source on your set.

I pushed a wrong button on the side of my viore tv and now i can't get the tv to do anything but ask me to run the channel auto scan. can't get the remote to help at all either.
check that button maybe it stuck if you pushed it on a angle just fiddle with it.

I just received a Coby TFTV992 9" portable TV. I'm trying to tune the TV channels without success.
1st click the "mode" button on the TV or remote then use the vol. up and down buttons to scroll around until you get to DTV mode then press "enter" on the remote you should get a message "please run channel auto scan" . click "Menu" on the remote the "Picture" screen will come up, keep clicking the vol. up button to scroll past "Audio" then "Setup" then to "Channel" then use the CH up or down buttons to scroll to "Air" click OK , then use the CH down button to scroll to "Scan all channels" then click the vol. up button. it then should start scanning, FYI you have to be fast!

if you wish to scan your TV to go for a certain channels..

you need to reset auto scan on your TV...


this are the procedure on how to reset auto scan...

  1. Get your remote control..
  2. press the menu button on your remote
  3. go to the settings..
  4. try to find the auto search.
  5. after you find the auto search press enter to scan the channels.

Note: Please complete the 100% scan for better results..

What are u using for a signal source? Cable, Satellite, Over the air? My best guess is that you hit a wrong button such as the "source" button and the remote doesn't know what device you are wanting to opperate. Press volume up then down and see what light lights up?
If it is other than "TV" then you probably have the wrong device selected... Hope this helps... Sincerely HDTV GURU JAY

Trying to program my dish network remote to run my Hitachi dvP543u DVD player. None of the Hitachi codes that dish network tech support has, work. Please help! Thanks in advance!
This is what is called a power scan this should resolve the issue for you.

Hold down the clear "AUX" button until all four of the clear buttons at the top of the remote are lit, press 222 then press pound (#). Then hold down the clear "AUX" button until all four of the clear buttons at the top of the remote are lit. Next press the large red power button then press and release the channel up button once per second until the DVD player powers off, once the DVD player turns off hit pound (#).
