They can but there is an inherent issue with those cards. They are RAM memory and can be easily damaged by a lot of things. Static electricity is one downfall of them.

To connect to the computer, you should first install the software on the computer that is on the CD, that came with the camera.
See page 88 of the manual.

Hi...I've got an samsung PL55 camera. Its screen is not showing anything but when its connected to tv or video output then screen is showing in the tv.

The only way you will correct this problem is a trip to the camera shop.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Use Windows Update, let it detect the driver for you.

Wiggle the lens a bit, it should be just a little off centre, it may not work emediatly but try and it will work!
