Question about GE Lands Phones
GE 21028 2.4GHz cordless phone, original 2 handsets. ''Handset 2'' is still ''Handset 2'' but the original ''Handset 1'' is now showing up as ''Handset 3''. Need ''Handset 1'' to do things like reset security code. How do I return ''Handset 3'' to its original status as ''Handset 1''? Thanx in advance.
I contacted GE today and they told me how to get the caller ID to work on the additional handsets. You must follow these steps in the exact order given.
#1 - unplug the base phone
#2 - unplug the telephone line from the base phone
#3 - remove the battery packs from the phones
#4 - wait 10 minutes.
reverse the order when assembling. Put battery packs in phones, put the telephone line back in the base phone and lastly plug all phones back in. It takes about another 10 minutes after that before all phones start recognizing caller ID but it now works fine.

Unplug the battery. Hold down The * (star) and the #(hash) keys simultaneously. Re-connect the battery, phone will beep and screen will be blank. Press the voicemail (righthand silver key under the lcd screen). As above EEPROM/RAM message will appear. Place handset on base and your problem is solved.
