Usually it is the power board. Try finding a replacement power board it should fix the problem.

Sounds like corrupted firmware. A firmware update might be necessary. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Unless this JUST started happening AND the TV worked previously, or you recently added a device to your set up, I am guessing that you simply are on the wrong input. For instance, I have a playstation connected to Video 2 and if my TV is set to Video 2 input AND my playstation is NOT on, the screen will be lit, but no picture. Make sure you are on the correct input.

A firmware update might fix it. Call an authorized servicer, explain the symptom.

There is a way to reset television. I have a jvc 42inch that was just going to main logo screen and not beyond it. If i remember correctly you unplug the tv hold power button for 5 sec on tv then let go plug in and start. If that dont work unplug and then plug and hold power button on tv for 5 sec. It is 1 of those combinations. My tv worked after that. I googled my problem and a website listed that some tvs need to be reset.

I just tried re-setting the digital tuner, which for the JVC LT-37x688 is as simple as powering the TV on, and holding the chanel down and volume down buttons simultaneously for about 3-5 seconds. The screen will go to black, and the TV will power off. Turn it back on, and you get the JVC logo again as everything re-sets. This solved my problem with vertical colored bar lines vice a picture, and sound.
