Connect Direct TV box to IN on DVD player, connect DVD player OUT to TV IN. Your audio cables hook from DVD to TV in proper jacks. (red to red, white to white)

I needed to know how to play aDVD in bauhn tv

The Braun TV I had some years ago had the DVD slot on the LH side of the screen. With the TV turned on, as soon as a disc was inserted it would start reading the disc and play.

I have a LG 51 inch plasma tv and trying to connect to advd player. I have picture and sound ,but no color. what do I need to do to get color?

Check your menu settings to see what colour and contrast you are using. Not sure if this is a consequence of connecting your DVD player. please report back.

I have a Toshiba tv that is connected to Direct tv and I want to know how to connect my new Phillips dvd player to it my tv?

Flat screens normally have 3 different inputs from tv. Regular is tv coax cable, then audio/picture by using special rca cables, then last HDMI. You can use any of those inputs except hdmi because you already are using that input. You may be able to buy a hdmi splitting device that will allow both the tv and the player to input to the single hdmi input. Check Radio Shack or Wal-Mart.

Dvd player does not work

Check the plug, check the connections on the back. Make sure the DVD disc is in correctly. If all that is good then go to repair man.
Good luck.

Have a vizio model M190VA 19in. tv. NO SIGNAL is on the screen.

What source is connected to the TV (what input is it looking for)? Check that the cables are fully connected and undamaged. If the source is a set-top box or dvd player, make sure the device is on and works for another TV. If the source is OTA, make sure the antenna is pointed in the correct direction and is getting sufficient signal. (Try antennaweb.org or tvfool.com for antenna direction and signal strength. Antennaweb is very conservative in the list and assumes an outdoor antenna.) If you have an amplifier or splitter, try eliminating them to test just the one tv (I've had several amplifiers turn into filters that blocked one station after lightning strikes). Try rescanning for channels.

Try another station or source. If none of these ideas help, you may have damage to the video input board or a problem with the cable from that board to the rest of the TV. If the tv is out of warranty, open up the unit and remove the shielding. Look at the boards for obvious damage (soot, scorch marks, leaking capacitors (look like cylinders on tripods)). My usual source doesn't list parts for this model TV but you may be able to find the board with the part number on the board itself.

I hope this helps.
