Remove the radio, disconnect the blue wire, and connect the blue/white wire in its place. This should fix your problem.

If you have tried another front & its the same, then its the main unit,...
Are the copper contacts clean? use rubbing alchol.
Are they intact? No? it needs to be professionaly repaired.

Hey jshaff, try taking off the detachable front, and you will see a reset button, press and hold in for 10 secs, this should solve your problem. if it doesn't work first time keep trying. you must have power to the head unit for this to work. you will hear the cd make a noise and that should be that, try and let me know.

it is most likely shorted faceplate, either send it to be repaired heres address:http://www.xplodsony.com/support or buy a new one at wholesale at this address:www.godspeedaudioheaven.com

It sounds like the yellow wire coming from your Sony is not hooked up to a constant positive or battery lead (it is used to keep memory and provide the main source of power to the deck). The red wire should be hooked up to a switched or ignition lead (and it is used to turn the unit on and off with the key).
This will allow 2 channels to run 100 watts each @ 4ohms with an additional single channel with 250 watts @ 4 ohms.
The single sub channel is created by bridging channels 3 & 4
