I am using a NIKON COOLPIX 2100. When I record video clips, it records fine and I can play it in my computer using Quicktime player. But the audio is not getting recorded for these video clips.

hi,
did you test your cam with previously recorded memory stick ?
if it gives sound, it means the speaker and audio sections are working well, if newly recorded scene not gives sound means, there may be problem with the microphone, change it.
The problem is the microphone on the camera. The mic on the camera is for recording sound in more normal environments. The sound level on a typical concert is much higher than normal, and the mic on the camera just doesn't have what it takes to record sound at those levels.
One possible solution is to record the sound with a dedicated audio recording device, and combine the video and audio in your video editing software.
Regardless of the size of the memory card, the largest video file you can create on the L18 is 2GB. You can stop recording one clip and then record another and another, and then combine them on a computer to create longer clips. In a Hollywood movie, you seldom see individual scenes as long as five minutes in length. They're usually put together from much shorter clips, changing viewpoints and camera angles.
Look for a Menu then FPS (Frames per second) option.30 fps should solve your issue. sometimes in order to keep file size low the setting is slower causing this issue.Good Luck.
Unlike later models, the L4 does not record any audio on its videos. You can add a soundtrack using video-editing software on a computer, but not on the camera itself.
If you have a USB card reader for your memory card, just plug it into the computer and the computer will treat the memory card like a thumb drive.
Otherwise, once you select the Mass Storage option, you need to plug the camera into the computer and it should be treated like a thumb drive.
I personally perfer the USB card reader, its a lot easier than having to keep up with a cable and remembering to change the camera over to the appropirate mode. Plus the USB Card readers can be found under 10 bucks on the net now.
Hope this helps
