Question about Behringer Music

I have a behringer xynyx 1204,and a protools personal studio,with mbox2 mini,and im just wondering if its possible to plug the mic into the mixer,instead of the mbox,and still be able to record vocals into protools? i have an m-audio nova condenser mic with phantom powe,if its possible please explain how i can go about it

It is possible, you can simply put a Y-cable for Mic or a splitter for the mbox and the Mic. You can plug the mic directly to the mixer then the other jack on the splitter connected to the mbox.

Hi, you didn't say if the mic actually passes sound? The C-1 is a condenser Mic & needs phantom power - switch on the rear of your mixer. If that's no help, what happens if you disconnect the mic, then turn the levels back up? Still hissing or gone? If it's gone then it's the Mic - must use a 3 wire cable, preferably XLR so it gets the phantom power. If the hiss is still there without the Mic then sounds like the mixer is faulty - try some of the other channels..... How loau is the hiss - just in the background or as load as a vocal "one, two" test? A few things to check anyway...... Good Luck!

Got a Behringer QX 1204 USB Mixer. I attached a condensor mic to channel 1 and turned the phamtom power on. I attached a headphone to the phone socket. I could hear my voice but any number of permutation...
Did you turn on the phantom power? Condenser mics need phantom power(unless the have their own battery.)

I need an activation code for pro tools 8?
When ProTools is installed on a computer it needs to be authorized to work. This has to be done via a dongle, a socalled iLok . The authorization is done by www.ilok.com. You need a dongle with the authorized registration of ProTools on your computer to make ProTools work.

It sounds as if you are not running in series. I assume you are in an insert on the mic channel. The insert send should go to the first item in the chain, then from the output of that to the input on the next item and so on until the output of the final item in the chain goes back to the return on the insert. This is applicable to the type of equipment you have detailed, in some cases however you may be running effects in parallel. Your case is definitely a series situation.

Right channel cuts out when I increase the volume
Blown or defective Headphone Amp IC or alternatively a defective Pot. Either way only AVID can fix it for you.

Outside parts and service is impossible.

Fuse would have NOTHING to do with the problem. Make sure to use balanced audio lines... XLR or TRS to mics or other devices.

Pls, i will like to know how i can get a pro sound with my beringer b2pro mic with my xenyx 1204usb mixer. i mean mic settings
The mic will give very good sound assuming you put it in a studio environment and have no speakers being driven by it that the mic can "hear" or it will feedback instantly.

Your studio should have proper sound deadening on the walls ceiling and floor. There is a lot of information on the web about setting up a studio. Search for it with google. The more studio-like the environment, the more like pro sound you will get. You will NOT get pro-sound in a bare garage or a room in a house without handling the sound reflections in the room. These mics hear EVERYTHING... they are a high quality mic.

The recording level to my Mbox is very low for some reason. I am running Pro Tools LE and I have a shure 87a microphone. Every time I attempt to record a track, the input volume is incredibly low...
Make sure you turn the Phantom power on the Mbox2 on as the Shure 87A requires it being a condenser mic.Make sure you use XLR mic cables. These are just things to check on.

Im having a problem with hearing my b-1 studio condenser mic on the lexicon alpha progam?
Sorry but... Very simply, you CANNOT use a condenser mic with the Alpha since it does not supply the required Phantom power for the mic. You must step up to another interface to use condenser mics. You can use dynamic mics with the Alpha or other audio sources. I use a Roland/Cakewalk UA25E interface with condenser mics and also the Lexicon Omega which does have Phantom power for the mics..

How many rca wires do i need what kind of mic and will it work off a soundblaster external soundcard and if possible i'd like to have a drawing to show what goes where
We have no way to enter drawings on FIXYA.

Figure 3.1 in your user manual has everything you need to know.

You would need 4 cables with RCA plugs at the 1202 end and whatever your soundblaster interface takes at its end to handle STEREO signals to and from the unit.

Almost any type of mic will work, and the choice of mic depends on what you are using it for and how much you have budgeted for. If you are in a studio without monitor, then one typically uses condenser mics AND for those you turn on the "phantom" power on this mixer. If you have speakers tied to this or where the mic can "hear" the speakers you likely cannot use condenser mics as they will cause feedback.
